Pest life cycle reference book

Will one of you point me in the right direction when it comes to ordering a reference book on controlling pests in your apple orchard? In some of the threads we have talked about basic pesticide control BUT IF YOU WANT MORE DETAIL ON LIFE CYCLE OF THE LESTS YOU NEED MORE DETAILED REFERENCE MATERIALS.

I bought the Penn State Fruit Production for the Home Gardener - A Comprehensive Guide. It has pest management for each fruit in the chapter devoted to that specific fruit. It's 187 pages and has anything that a home gardener / fruit grower would need to know ( which would include us wildlife growers ). It describes insect pests as well as fungal and bacterial diseases and methods to detect them and treat them. Various chemicals and their application for specific pests are handled in a user-friendly way ..... easy to read.

It also has diagrams on how to prune & train trees, space limbs, charts on chemicals, and care of apple, pear, peach, plum, nectarine, cherries, grapes, apricots, and all kinds of berries. It also has sources for fruit trees, berry plants and other references for home fruit gardening. Tough to beat this book for the money.

Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences is at www.cas.psu.edu The phone number for info is 814-865-6713. Call that number for info on how to get this publication. It costs about $12.
