Outta Site Blind

More and more I keep reverting back to the idea of building one. We made a small wood blind in the mid 80's and while it's in sad shape, it's still useable today.

Transportation wise, and getting stuff on site, there's no good solution for me. Buy or build will both suck.

Simple, sturdy and effective for about $200🦌IMG_8570.png

As soon as you're done, you'll love it. Save time an weight, precut as much as you can. USe diesel mixed with motor oil as cheap stain. It'll be fine by deer season if you build it in the summer. Insulation is good and adds cost. Jusd do the floor and behind where you sit.

I built an outhouse like that about 25 years ago. Built it, marked every piece like a model airplane, "this part meets this part", disassembled it then carefully fit it all in the back seat of my car and hauled it 250 miles to reassemble.

I see the deck block above... that's what I will need to do for sure. Actually I don't think even that will be enough. I think I'll need to stick those on large round patio blocks to keep it from sinking into the ground. That or pour some slabs in place.

Just curious- has anyone been able to shoot a vertical bow out of one of these?
