New antlers in velvet

It’s May first, and new antlers in velvet have started to appear. It will be interesting to see how these develop over the next 4 to 5 months.

Thanks. Old rig (unfortunately). Elcheapo spotting scope with my phone held up to the eye piece. I think I could get some pretty darn neat pics if I had better equipment. I certainly have the views to do so.

We have a buck that is quite a ways more developed than the other bucks hanging around. Last year he completely broke off one side and the remaining side had a broken tine or two, so couldn’t get a good read on his overall size.
The first two photos were taken April 25th

All the other regulars to the yard look similar in growth to Apple, Catscratch and Rit’s. Anxious to see what he turns into.

That’s what I’m thinking Roy! All the other bucks are at the same point you mentioned, just starting to split brows/beams. This one is a full month ahead of the rest. Anxious to see what he does!
