Farmer next to my house is combining about 150 acres of beans right now. Must be a couple hundred seagulls spread over the fields, one every 40-50 ft. Closest lake or major dam on a river is over 10 miles away. Those bird brains must be smarter in a group.
Btw, 53 deg right now and they are running a no till drill on the new cleaned field. This is zone 5a here and what Nov 5th? They have done this in Nov before. Supposed to be some rain and above freezing at night for the next 4 days with highs in upper 40s.
All who keep asking how late can I plant rye all worried like, relax. Have a 4 or 5 day window, let'er rip. The real farmers do. Expect to see get maybe 4 inches high and then here comes winter
