Congrats!I had gotten to my stand late, because I had to work late. It left me about an hour to hunt. I had a decent buck come into the corner of my plot hot on a doe, she ran into the plot, then dashed back out, and the buck was hot on her tail. Thinking I missed my chance, I was bummed. Then the doe came darting across the other corner of my plot with the buck still on her tail, 75 plus yards, through an apple orchard. Then she turned around and darted across the center of my plot, and he was on her, I decided I would make a few grunt noises, and he stopped right in front of my camera for a quick pose before I let an arrow fly. So I got a nice before picture, and an after picture. This guy has been around all fall, but I haven’t seen him while in stand.

Oops…neighbor who shot this deer had it scored. 155. That was a mistakeThey didn’t take long. Zero pics of this deer. It’s one I know from last year. May regrets this. I think he’s four. Need him at 5 View attachment 83882
Love those bumpy bases.Wonder what his H1 measurements were. That deer was in the bone zone.
I'm right with you, G. I've found that when it gets around Halloween to about November 18th, I've seen more nice bucks cruising - scent-checking the breeze, or nose to the ground - from about 8 to 11 am. Sometimes I get to see a nice one on a doe's tail running or trotting. Lots of time spent in tree stands over the years has shown me that time period is pretty hot. My tree stand exit time is usually about 1 pm during those couple weeks. Back in a tree by 2:45pm.I used to be an afternoons only guy but camera and harvest data and recent personal experience have changed my mind. These cold mornings from 8-11 have been best.
A camp member here has cam pics of a couple fairly big fawns still wearing spots too. The size of them is what seemed odd for still having spots.I have a picture from a week ago of a doe with fawns that still had lots of spots on them!
80 degrees and 15 mph wind. Awesome November day
