Floor jack, bottle jack, hi lift……etc

What do you all have for jacks in your shop? (Anyone with a nice hydraulic lift can piss off😂😂)

I have 1/2 ton truck, cars, tractor (8000#), UTV, ATV, ZT mower and snowmobiles. I need to jack all of them off the concrete floor of the shed at least once or twice a year each.

I currently have 2 rolling floor jacks (3 ton and 1.5 ton) and a set of 4 heavy jack stands. The bigger jack is starting to sag pretty fast under a load. Both of them are old and cheap.

My applications above require both hi lift and a lo profile. Plus obviously the 8k tractor.

Can you share examples of what might be good options for my shop?

Maybe I need a new floor jack and a bottle or 2???

Thanks in advance!

Bottle jacks don't have a high lift. I just got a 12 ton on sale at Harbor Freight. I got it for lifting my shed and felling large trees. The ram is always shorter than the housing, so the lift to profile ratio isn't great. But they're great tools, cheap, and handy to have around.

Harbor freight has an array of floor jacks, especially 3 ton. I haven't bought any of them, but they have a lot of reviews.

I guess by ‘hi lift’ I actually meant to say highER lift than I have now on my old floor Jacks. I hate having to stack 4-6” of boards on them to get the lift height I need on the UTV.

I will look at the HF ones for sure. Thx!

harbor freights 3 ton goes 23" high. Too much lift and you cant reach what your working on.

Good set of ramps is always welcome.

Take a peek at autobody lifts. Sometimes called mid rise scissors lift. Far as the heavy tractor goes, not much you need a tall jack to work on.

I do own a harbor freight 3 ton floor jack and it does a nice job for me. Used it allot when I was moding my Jeep Wrangler a few years ago.....and also have used one with my tractor. Picks up anything I want lifted so far. Also have a few bottle jacks....and for the money they are great.....just not as easy to use on a concrete floor and a bit more tippy for day to day needs. Finally I have a high-lift jack (Commonly called a handy man jack) and use it on rare occasions. Had one on my jeep too....but never had a ned for it. These are good jacks when used with care....but can be widow makers if you are not careful. Everything you do with these has to be deliberate and done with caution. . Been around them since my youth and had several close calls Sith them.....tho always was a bit smarter than that jack.
That Harbor freight 3 ton is worth the $$. IMO.
