John, or anyone who might know.
Will the PW-3594 (4D) battery back for J cameras work with the PW-3624 (single 6D) battery booster? The 12AA and 6D backs will not slide onto the 3624 mount because of cable connector placement? I could use separate mounts, but would prefer not.

yes it is compatible but it doesnt slide on the back as you describe unless you modify the 3624 , which several have done. you would need to replace the small bolts inside the dovetail on the 3624 to pull it away for the battery pack slightly. Cuddeback purposely has it this way because they feel its to much weight among other reasons, which is why they include the extra mount with the booster pack.

Ok, for speed and since I've accumulated so many mounts over the years, I ended up just putting the pack next to the camera on it's own mount. But then I encountered another issue. Of all the various power cords I've accumulated over the years, I only had one that "perfectly" fit between the 3624 and the J camera, with the twist locks that would keep the ends from falling out. I'm guessing it probably came with the PW-3600 solar panel, because that is the only device I have just one of. There were a bunch that fit the J camera, but the other end for the 3624 did not have the twist lock, and did not fully seat into the socket. But, a quick trim of the depth ring on that end of the cord allowed it to fully seat into the 3624, although without a twist lock.
Looking online, I see a 9069 and 9070 power cord that both look like the one I trimmed. Is there a factory cord for connecting the 3624 to a J-camera with twist locks on both ends, and if so, what is it's model number for ordering?

the correct cord should have been included with the power bank? it should be brown on both ends ? there should be one inf the box, are you sure you have the 3624 or did you pick up the 3358, they are the same the but port in the bank is different - what power cable did you get with the power bank ? can you send me a picture ? you want the C2-C2 cable they make a metal wrapped version or a standard version that comes with the 3624, it should have twist locks on both end. if not call cuddeback and they should send you some out.

I purchased them, but have not deployed them yet. Just did not think about it during hunting season and holiday travels. Living in Florida, I'm only at the Kentucky farm every so often, and will try to remember the next time I'm there. But I'd bet a good amount they will work as expected.

Glad I did not actually make the bet. While at the farm this weekend I installed two of the dummy D cells into a J-camera with the 6D battery back, (Put two real batteries and one dummy cell in each side of the 6D back), and reprogrammed the camera to operate on 4D cells. I then installed a PW-3624 battery booster next to the camera. PS: I did give the camera time to deplete the capacitor while I was making the change.
With this setup, I expected it to initially run off the 6D booster, and switch over to the 4 internal Ds (with 2 dummies) when be booster depleted. However, when looking at the report this morning it only says "OK", instead of the "Ext OK" I expected. And I believe that means it is running (at least initially) on the internals. It might be a few more weeks before my next trip to try something else at the farm.

the cord with the black on one end and the brown on the other is for the 3358 to any J, K or Newer G, the black end goes in the 3358 and the brown end goes in the camera. that is a C1- C2 cable and you can buy those form cuddeback or call them and they may just send them to you. We started including those in 2020 so if you bought the 3358's before 202 the may not have had them inside the box.

The other had a longer barrel with the twist lock key and locked perfectly into the 3358. The shorter versions did not feel they entered deep enough to be secure, until I trimmed the seating ring so they would go deeper. If this does not make sense, or you are not familiar with the two different cables with black on one end and brown on the other, I’ll take pictures the next time I’m at the farm. And yes, the brown end goes into my J, K, or G cameras perfectly.

there should only be one cable that has brown on one end and black on the other, that is the cable you want to use. the other two, (one being short )have black on both ends and are designed only for use with the old g or C series cameras. If you need more of the cables with black on one end and brown on the other call Cuddeback CS and they should be ableto get what you need, let them know they didnt come in the 3358 box .

Your camera needs to be on the newest firmware that allows you to pick your internal battery, 4D,6D or 12AA with the Two dummy D cell pick 4D for internals try that

Currently have version 8.0, which “does” allow selection of the battery types. And as mentioned in the post, I did change the camera programming from 6D to 4D.

I do remember a post on a different forum, there are different circuit boards in each internal battery pack with diodes for internal voltage input and letting in external voltage output that’s probably what’s wrong so you should just purchase a 4D internal pack for your J cameras

@john volkman I have 8.1.0 running on about 15 cameras. In a few weeks, I'll be out at my property adding several more cameras. I see the current Firmware is 8.3.0. Is there any place I can go to see the "README" file for what changed? Thanks.

there isnt a read me page but it mostly has to do with Channels, you do want to upgrade to 8.3, when you do you will need ot reset everything. the channel will be 2 , 2 digit numbers, default is 01-01- you want the first 2 to be 01-16 and the second 2 to be 17 and over, an example would be 07-17 for your channel. there is also a new manual on the firmware page i believe. all cams need ot be on 8.3 for them ot communicate. so start with the home update it and then do one remote at a time and make sure they connect. the update prevents signal bleeding into other RF networks or cuddelink networks.

Where you add others who you want to receive the pics I wish you could just check a box next to each one you don't want receiving the pics while you're setting them up in a new spot or any other reason. It's a pain putting their phone #'s etc back in there each time. Life is hard.

Is anyone else having trouble with "view photos" this morning? Mine spins for a minute like it's updating images, then presents a blank page. Checked my neighbors account, and same thing. Tried it on iPad and laptop.

That's the only way I have ever recieved it on my phone. I want to see what the actual report looks like, I have to check me email or log into the site.
