I only have one K camera, and unfortunately it recently died with a "fail 203" error code. Phone support says I need to send it back, but did not send me the return email they promised. I've sent a second request to them via email, but have not heard back yet and assume they will answer me Monday after the holidays. But when this K camera is repaired and back to me, I'll test the dummy cells on it.I would think they would work just fine on the J cameras 12AA and 6D because firmware allows you to pick internal batteries I'm not to sure if the K dual cell well work, are you planning on trying one of them . Please keep me up to date thank you for getting back to me
I wouldn't worry until it happens back to back. Wait and see if you get one overnight tonight. This is the first morning that I have not gotten the report in my email. Is something wrong? What do I need to check?
I'm afraid I don't have much better advice for you other than to share in your struggles. I was using a repeater on a ridgetop to connect valleys. It was just too much of a pain on the ass. The unit works fine as a home unit but as repeater it's not worth the constant lack of connectivity. At this point Im just going to pick up some more J's and daisy chain them to get the cameras where I want them.Anyone,
I would like to get some feedback on user experiences in similar Topo layouts.
1. In mtn or very steep area.
2. property goes from 2100 ft down to 1600 ft
3. most cameras are on different ridges but two are in steep valleys.
4. 6 cameras and 1 repeater
5. moved repeater around to get best additional coverage over property.
6. heavy hard and soft woods with a few food plots.
7 my home cell is at the highest point on the property due to cell signal and then expands out like a triangle. The home unit cannot be in the center of the network I just don't have the cell signal.
Season is over with and I've moved the repeater around during the season to find the best location on my property during the season. My experience is the repeaters are pretty much useless (John said replace with camera but i have it so want to use it) on boosting the signal to different areas of the property. It would connect off and on (very dependant on the weather/no leaves) but I could never get it to say keep my farthest cameras connected above 20 no matter where I place it on my property.
Saying that, I never missed any pictures being sent via my cell camera, that I know of, during the season. Some were delayed by they did get transmitted.
So I would love to hear from other folks that had similar topo and how they made their system work.
Thanks
Thanks and that's the conclusion I've come to also but wanted to get others input in case I was missing something.I'm afraid I don't have much better advice for you other than to share in your struggles. I've had really good luck with the system otherwise (14 cameras across two systems). I've been favoring putting the cameras on timber ridgetops, but early this winter I was experimenting with getting into some deep draws. Based on other's experiences, I'm assuming the success of my systems is because the cell units are in the center of the properties.
If you can, I would try and get some antenna mods to try and get any kind of cell connection with the cell camera near the center of your property. Even if it means sacrificing the quality of Cam's location.
Mine went offline with fail-203 just over a week ago. At first I thought it was related to the bombing in Nashville, as that disrupted cellular services across our area, but the other (both Verizon) home camera kept working. When my ATT cell phone regained service I rebooted the fail-203 camera and gave it another day to get going. When it did not, I called CL support and they said to return it. Sorry for the bad news, but you probably need to call support and get a return authorization number.John,
One of my cell cams abruptly went offline a couple days ago. When i run the cell test, i get error fail 203. Any thoughts?
you dont want time lapse on less you are looking for blank images at specific intervalsIt’s been a couple days, cameras were doing great on runs, I updated and now I feel like they are way more sensitive. What are everyone’s settings like? If you’re runnin them in advance mode what are your delays and time lapse settings like ?

Thanks John. I called customer service today and they had me go ahead and send it back in. They didn't mention the iccid test.
The camp report does not work for me either. In the early afternoon it shows all my cameras, in the late evening it only shows a few of them. The emailed reports always show them all.I have roughly 15 cameras running 8.1.0 for 170-ish days. At my last report last night (around 6PM MST), all cameras checked in. This morning, I logged into camp.cuddeback.com and noticed the current report is only showing 3 of my 15 cameras. I've been on this forum enough to know I need to give it 24 hrs, but wanted to see if anyone has else has experienced a dramatic change in less than 12 hrs? If so, what may have been the culprit?
I've also found the camp report to be unreliable. Camp in general has some bugs. Getting photos to refresh is a coin toss, and usually only works properly if I switch between last 7 days and recent photos. Sometimes images I've marked to save, or as favorites, are not actually saved as selected, and I have to go back and save them again. It's also storing many more images than I'm paying for. But I assumed that just might just be a benefit they are giving on purpose, until their servers get more full???The camp report does not work for me either. With Cuddeback and other services, I never trust their backup abilities. I always make sure I manually save notable images from the emails as I'm viewing them. I just create a Google Photos account and save them there and locally on my hard drive or phone.I've also found the camp report to be unreliable. Camp in general has some bugs. when the external pack is depleted, it will switch form EXT LOW to OK. At that point it is running on your internalsHere is a question that should be obvious, but I’m not sure. I have external battery packs on many of my cameras. I’d like to let those packs be depleted, with the power diverted to the cameras internal batteries, BEFORE I put new batteries in the external pack. But I‘m not sure how to read the daily report. Does ”Ext Low!” mean the external pack is low - or fully depleted? I ask, because when the cameras without external packs say “Low!”, they will still run for a good while before going dead. Does “Low” mean two different things, depending on the device? Thanks, Steve.
