Conspiracy theorys, where do you stand?

Can you explain what people who want to give the government less money to blow are actually asking for?

I can't speak for Jerry B...but I can speak to one small niche area of government I do not want cut...VA health care. My VA health care is top notch. I have quick and immediate access to services that would take months to obtain via my private health care...MRI's for example. I think VA funding is in the crosshairs of the incoming admin. Pete Hegseth is on record as saying he wants to privatize VA health care. Not a fan. But I realize I am fully biased on this issue.

Thank you for your service.

What I'm saying is no matter what cuts are made or where they're made it will affect groups of people. An example, in the area I live in there's been a Canadian mining company that's been trying to open a gold mine next to the Menominee river. So let's cut the regulations and funding for the EPA and then the mine opens creates some jobs for a while, but leaves an environmental nightmare behind when it closes. So were the cuts worth it?

Let's cut the FDA and the USDA funding and make them toothless. There's already bird flu virus in raw milk, you think it might get worse? Have you been paying attention to all the food recalls lately because contamination?

I'm not saying these, or any agencies, shouldn't be scrutinized. But I can't wait for the screaming when the scab gets ripped off.
I’ve followed that deal from afar. I hope that deal gets blow up forever.
But I think we have to cherry pick the ridiculous stuff. I don’t think the fda and epa and va should be abolished or anything but maybe audited. Lord knows the military does. Npr? Planned parenthood? Why, gut those. I’m there’s millions upon millions that can be cleaned up. That’s my hope. Though I’m with Brian, I’ll believe any of it when I see.
People are talking as if Elon and vivik are going to make any changes. They have no power! They are the Bobs in office space, consultants.

I don't understand how we collectively as a group here, back the cuts to the EPA, state DNR or any other environmental agency. Don't we care about the soil, water, air quality of the environments we like to spend our time in?

What's the sense of trying to change the quality of or enhancing the habitat for animals or fish. If the regulations or enforcement of existing regulations are done away with because Musk or Ramaswamy don't give two beans about environment but care about money then what are we doing here?

This is the wailing, crying and sniveling I'm talking about.

I think we can all agree that adding 1 trillion in debt every 100 days is completely unsustainable. At some point we need to absorb some pain to get off this runaway debt train. This means a lot of people will stop getting funds they are used to getting. It has to happen. This current trajectory will lead to a complete collapse.

Hope all you want, if the agencies aren't there or can't act you can drink sulfide water for the rest of your life. Want to go fishing on one of the best smallmouth rivers in the midwest? Nope we had to save some money instead.

Does anyone actually believe Elon and Vivik won't gain from this plan? I've got some polluted frontage I want to sell you.

I agree. Just be prepared for the high pitched screaming when the scab gets ripped off.

I agree, and some good people will lose their jobs. It still has to happen if we want to keep this country standing for future generations.
The government should never have gotten to this size.

I think you misunderstood me…
I didn’t say to get rid of the organizations, but rather audit them. Why is that controversial? Those in favor of government without oversight scare the hell out of me.

Even commie Bernie says we need to get rid of waste in the Pentagon. How many audits in a row has the Pentagon failed now? 7?

The federal government is full of waste and redundancies

This is the concerning part for me. Put these guys (or others) in ANY kind of regulation cutting decision making chair and I'd bet my house they clear room for themselves to rake billions with ZERO oversight.

Elon is getting something for the time and money spent delivering Trump a win in Pennsylvania, you can take that to the bank.

Cant speak for what you have, but here in Wisconsin VA care is considered bottom of the barrel care at best.Scandals galore. Privatizing it would most likely.make.it better. Taking the socialist edge off of anything usually makes it better.

That's a stretch at best. To just assume the ONLY place cuts will be is to the EPA, usda, etc is the same as schools.saying they'll.habe to cut all sports Everytime they don't get the referendum they want. Low hanging fruit. Meant to get people emotional.
Who says Elon doesn't care about the environment? Besides that when is the last time the EPA or any government agency did a good job with anything? Anyone remember a train in Ohio?? Great job there, really care about the environment and people's health....

I'm sorry but that's just a lot of assumptions. You assume because it's a Republican and you don't like Republicans they will cut everything and straight toxic waste will flow into every river in America. Trump is president everyone will be forced to drink sulfur water! All the fish at doomed....a lot of assumptions

Kinda like the Biden crime family is getting something out of allowing and propagating a war in Ukraine?

Or….

We can cut all the jobs of the people that are advising congress to send $100B to the Ukraine, or maybe the ones that come up with billion dollar cow fart studies or the geniuses that come up with critical race theory programs and the like…and on and on.
Plenty of places to trim some serious fat off many budgets in many areas I’m sure, including the pentagon.
I’m sure the FDA, EPA, USDA do have some shenanigans going on…what government agencies don’t? What state agencies don’t?
WTH…what county agency doesn’t?

The mother of all slush funds and reckless spending and budget padding is the government without a question. Why would you not want a deep dive into their spending? It is your money they are using, don’t you think you deserve to see it spent wisely?

Just pretend it’s the left looking into it and it won’t sting you so bad.

Nope, we gonna cut all clean water, breathable air and all trees.

That's too bad about Wisconsin. But yeah, I stand by my comments. I guess I am just lucky that, for whatever reason, VA health care seems to work well in Massachusetts and is easy to access. Way better than my private health care I have through my employer.

Have a co-worker here in MN that goes back to Central WI where he's from to use the VA and says it's far superior to the privatized care we are offered through our employer here.
