Baiting, I know this has been discussed and discussed this is just my rant....LOL

Obviously
Maybe I can help you out.

I believe that the research supports me in saying that as corn kernels per area increases, so does pathogen concentration. Maybe draw me a picture and I’ll pick 1 or 2.

You do realize this stuff is everywhere right? Deer on a lip high food plot are exposed. Deer at a muddy waterhole are exposed. Not sure how to draw a clearer picture for you.

If I could outlaw small muddy water holes, I would do that too.

ETA: what’s your point? That’s the purported spreader of EHD. Because water holes exist in droughts, feeders are g2g?

Better go after those persimmon trees dropping too Tim.

And now, name-calling!

My point is, control what we can control.

You think baiting or feeding can be controlled Mr. Ruff?

I don’t know if that’s meant as another insult, but in my lifetime it was controlled!

And arguably the most important enforcer was public opinion from the hunters on the fence… like you? But those folks seem to have recently misplaced their peanuts. That’s why I’m so outspoken about this here.

Not an insult. Just calling you by name. I've already said I'd rather there not be baiting, and that I do see health implications. But, it's not going anywhere. And to NOT concentrate the deer towards my neighbors, I'm going to feed. Plots, soft mast, hard mast, feeders, browse; whatever the deer want to eat the most.

What’s your point?
Point about what? You started the insults with the whole peanuts deal. I thought we were having a friendly debate, and you had to go and take it personal.

So you try to broadcast my name in retaliation?

You think you’re doxxing me in revenge.?

It's really too late for me to get dragged back into this silly argument but I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. Comparing a feeder to a food plot is, for lack of a better word, ignorant. I could be proven wrong if you have a feeder that randomly slings feed over a 5-acre area. If you have a feeder like that, I stand corrected.

Likewise, comparing a feeder to an oak tree or a persimmon tree is, for the lack of a better word, ignorant. That is unless you have some magical feed tree that drops continuously for months on end and draws in countless forms of wildlife on a daily and an unnatural basis. If you have trees like that, please let me know about them.

And finally, the saddest support for baiting is the "if I don't bait, my neighbors will kill all of the deer" guy. I'd hate to be that guy, living life with a defeatist attitude. Just sad.

The real loser in all of this is the wildlife. But hey, we have a history of extricating all forms of wildlife from the planet, why stop now.
