2026 Scion Exchange

Branches?
Milled cedar lumber I usually have some
6”x6” maybe 4”x6” material milled up and on hand I like to keep a bit of 4/4 on hand also for hope chest bottoms. I will admit I keep more lumber on hand than most folks.

Scions I cut today

Nova EZ Grow apple
McKelvey pear
Gate pear

Please describe what McKelvey pears are like. I'm not familiar with them.

Thank you for that information. I'd done a Google search on McKelvey Pear and came up empty.

Anybody tried out the cold snap pear? Bred in canada in the 1970's. I thought they said it can go down to zone 2. Ripe right around when keiffer is.

Place I have a tree order has them, trying to say no. But have a few pear rootstocks lready coming.

Got an itch for red splendor too.

Yesterday I collected scion from

Ms Laneene
Wildlife pear
And a very fast growing pear that I’ve lost the tag it maybe Gilmer Xmas I think I have about 10 of those trees around here.

Hey all

I am looking for Granny Smith, white limbertwig and aunt Rachel.

I have a pile of Apple and pear varieties to exchange or can just pay you for yours. Don’t have my master list on me at the moment.

Scion shipping seems to be a roll of the dice this year.

A member shipped me scions from New York and they arrived right away.

I shipped two, nearly identical packages to members in Missouri and Michigan at the same time. The one shipped to Missouri arrived promptly. The one shipped to Michigan has been in transit for 15 days.

A package of scions was shipped to me from Missouri 11 days ago and is still in transit.

For what it's worth, the person behind the counter at my local post office recognized what I was shipping and told me that First Class has been getting scions to their destination as fast as, or faster than, Priority Mail. I don't know if that's true. That's just what I was told.

USPS says it all. I almost never use them incompetent fools. Spend couple more bucks and get on schedule.

I could use a stick or two of H63a, if you can still cut it.

Had to resend one package to a member.

Looking for any persimmon scions someone would be willing to send me!

The scions shipped to me from Missouri finally arrived here in Wisconsin. Google Maps says the distance was 564 miles. That works out to 1.7 miles per hour, though I suppose whoever the mail carrier was that they had walk the package to here had to stop and take breaks along the way.
