I have a 410 contender pistol...... LOVE IT for bunniesI was poking around looking for a single shot .410 today that could ride the mower with me. That would be perfect for the reptiles I can’t get to with mower blades.

Henry, Rossi, Kel-tec, Diamondback are the ones I have. I'm sure there are a lot more.Never owned a 22 mag. They make many guns in that caliber anymore? For how much I love rimfires, I don't have any other than 22lr. 22lr is my only 22 cal.
How much does that bullet drop over 225? That's a 22mag necked down?17hmr hands down my first choice for plinking and small game. Super accurate and effective past 225 yrds

I had a 17 HMR and a 22Mag. Both were quite accurate. Both could kill a prairie dog at about 100 yards.....but the bullet drop at any ranges much further out made the round(s) pretty tough to shoot....IMO. Also the 22Mag had more "punch" at 100 yards than the 17HMR. The HMR would kill the dogs....but never any spectacular hits. I prefer the 22 Mag. 225 yards would be a huge stretch.....IMO.17hmr hands down my first choice for plinking and small game. Super accurate and effective past 225 yrds

Not sure I guess. I borrowed one from my cousin a few years ago to do some prairie dog hunting. It had a cheapass bsa scope on it. Id range the prairie dogs, turn the dial on top and the dogs died. After the first day they got pretty spooky so most of the shooting was over 200yrds.How much does that bullet drop over 225? That's a 22mag necked down?
Guy I was with had a spotting scope on the target and confirmed I was drilling every one of them. They didnt fly 5 feet in the air like when using a 223 or 250 but i was killing everything i shot at.I had a 17 HMR and a 22Mag. Both were quite accurate. Ruger 10/22. I like cheap bullets
I own three 1894 Marlins. One in 44 Mag and two in 357 Mag. I like the 357's lots more for plinking on steel plates.....and like that the ammo interchanges with my Ruger revolvers. Lever gun fever hit me several years back....and those have become my fav's. Also marlin 22 caliber lever actions......just a joy to shoot them. I put skinner peep sights on all of those guns....and that has been real helpful for my old eyes.My favorite beating around and plinking guns are my old faithful Smith K-22 revolver, and my Marlin 1894 in .44 mag. I'm loving the lever so much, I'm wanting another in .357.
Regreted selling my 357 lever gun. The need for it went away. not too noisy deer hunting. Neighbors woud call cops all the time on me, although legal to hunt as well as safe too. Neighbors saw a coyote with their pet cat in his mouth, they loosened up their view on the matter after that.I own three 1894 Marlins. One in 44 Mag and two in 357 Mag.
