Elevated blind finished!

Spruce85

A good 3 year old buck
Worked on this thing most of the summer. Can not wait to use it this winter with my daughter. Still need to foam/insulate walls but that may wait until next year. Took a bit longer than anticipated.

Gorgeous!
Will the railing get in your way when shooting at all? Just curious. I typically only hunt big woods and this year my 1 plot in the middle of big woods. So I have deer coming in from any direction.

Regardless - I would love to sit in a blind like that! Very nicely done!

Ya that is real nice,.. I never have hunted out of a blind like that but dream of it! LOL

Thank you! The railing would get in the way if I was shooting 10 yards or less. That side is the neighbors hay field and I never see deer in it.

Very nice.

Now that is impressive...!
I just finished a similar project but not nearly to the level of precision as yours...

I love the creativity there! Having that mobile is a great idea. I've been toying with an idea of building an elevated blind but just dealing witht he materials (transporting and building) have me scratching my head.

That is a work of art Spruce! Do the windows just slide up? ...screens?

I’m interested in the blind itself. Did you build that? And if so, would you be willing to share its dimensions and window measurements?

Thanks! The windows actually hinge inward, completely silent. No screens

Yeah, I built the blind myself. The window openings measure 36”x12”. The blind is 6’ wide and the walls are 6’6 tall. About 7’ to peak of roof. Wish I had some plans to share but I just built it as I went.

Very nice!

What is it you have on the floor? I am in the process of building one on a gravity cart and am always looking for new ideas.

I used four 36”x36” rubber mats that snap together. Bought on amazon, pretty much horse stall mats. They work great.

Ok - that is what it looked like, but I wanted to confirm. I typically use scrap carpet.... and have considered rubber mats before, but was concerned on how well the roller chairs would move across it.

What did you put on the roof? I would like to build my next with that configuration, and have thought about it quite a bit. For the life of me I cant think of a good way to roof it.

That is bad ass!
I'm jealous, one day I'll get the ambition to put one up.
