^ ^ ^ ^ Since you mentioned bear ..... anyone on here ever try bear done into stick bologna?? It's pretty popular here in Pa. It has a smoky, black pepper flavor when done by a good meat processor. Not that you gents would try this - but bear bologna's great with good cheese, crackers & pretzels, and cold beer.

When I grew up, we called fried bologna round steak. We were too poor to know the difference. I love it though.

Bear bologna has a rougher grind on the meat than the "store-bought" pinkish colored stuff. It's more of a dark reddish-brown color from the smoking process. You can see the coarse black pepper when you slice it. Sliced about 1/4" thick and served cold - it's a really tasty, smoky munch along with extra-sharp cheddar cheese or horseradish cheese. Your favorite beer is a good partner to that snack when watching ball games, fishing, hunting camp .....

I ate fried bologna as a kid also. 8 kids in the house were not cheap to feed. I still like it but cold..

I love straps but I normally just enjoy them pan seared. Couple times a year I stuff them.
