What's for dinner?

Yep. ^^^^^^ Let's not rush things !!!! Let's S-A-V-O-R each day / meal / drink ................... Night time activity ................:emoji_smiling_imp:

This is from a fishing trip a few weeks ago. Walleye "Fish Tacos". The guy in charge of the food came up with it. He had some kind of coleslaw he added to them. They were delicious.

We do fish tacos 2-3 times a month. Your spread looks great ... cole slaw is a key ingredient. Try some fresh squeezed lime on them ... :emoji_thumbsup:

"The food guy" is from Texas. He made fresh guacamole, lime juice, and probably more ingredients I missed. I'll be having him over for dinner some time so he can show me how he did it. Simple yet delicious.

Simple dinner tonight. Wife and girls (2 and 5) did not get home until about 8pm. I microwaved the next to last pint jar of canned venison, made some instant mashed potatoes, and microwaved some leftover peas. Everything got eaten up.

Pretty cool when a friend introduces you to a whole new taste ... sometimes simple ingredients, a few beers, and good friends are best!

Have done the bacon wrapped dove with jalapeño and cream cheese on the grill a few times this month. I like to marinate the dove breast in cheap Italian dressing for a couple days first.

This one went from the field to the table overnight.

First time I've ever had fresh black bear (have had sausage and sticks many times).

Grilled with onion, garlic, butter, and seasoning salt. It was so good, I had it again tonight as leftovers!

Nice John! We do fresh ducks and geese the same way cubed or stripped sealed up tight in foil...let it cook low on the grill while we fish or mess around doing small projects at camp. We call it duck Canada style.

Nice bear! Congrats

You just ate a big raccoon:emoji_fearful: :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

By the way, the shooter was the big guy on the left (from out of town, just home for the hunt) - his Vietnam vet father is on the right. They both needed to leave town the next morning, so I got the loins and the rest went to the processor. I was just there to help :emoji_worried:

I've done what we call jalapeno poppers with peppers, cream cheese and bacon before. Never thought to use some wild game with it. Duck breast maybe?

I like to pound backstrap thin, marinate it, put some cream cheese/garlic/jalapeño in it then roll it up and wrap in bacon and grill.

Not a great picture, and the family got to them before I could get a good picture.... A friend gave us some brook trout.... Haven't had one in years. Rolled them in flour, salt, pepper and garlic salt. Fried them in olive oil and butter. They are a lot of work to eat because of all of the bones but they were delicious!

Thanks guys ... not a big deep fry at home guy but this turned out pretty good ... hangover food for the wife and I ... :emoji_slight_smile:

Kind of a lousy picture, because I covered the main course up with cheese.... Tonight I tried a DIY Philly Cheese Steak. I had a large sirloin steak left from the last beef we bought so I grilled it to medium rare and mixed it in with peppers, onion, soy/worcestershire, garlic and salt & pepper.

I wouldn't feed it to any of you east coast guys... You would probably beat me up just for trying. But it turned out well enough that I'll do it again in the future.
