Warren pear

5 year old buck +
I’ve been reading on Warren Pear recently that it’s a very FB resistant and latter dropping pear anyone have this pear tree that’s producing that can comment? It’s also said to be a very good eating pear very smooth without grit but I’m more interested in it’s FB resistance and drop time in your zone.

I have 4 Warrens scattered over three farms of different ages. None on mine have had fire blight as of yet. Two of them have not produced yet and one has about three pears and the one at my house is loaded this year. This is the first year it has a crop, it is probably fourth leaf at my place. The pears are hard and not tasty yet but are still hanging. I have thinned a few to keep limbs from breaking. So I will try to let you know when it drops in my zone or if I forget ask again in October. Also a different pear has FB not 50 foot away from Warren.

Have read they are pollen sterile and defiantly need a pollinator close and Carl’s Favorite is suggested to graft a limb over to that pear if by it’s self.

I just put one in this spring, read some hype on it for a wildlife tree also good eater and didn’t have any so decided to try it. I do like pears.
Mine has been a good grower so far, has put on over a foot and branched out nicely. No sign of any disease and others close by young and old had leaf spot bad this year.
