Uncatagorized.....things we see....

Here is a book for the Stab Camp.......and maybe a few others too.

Just drove home from work, passed a group of 6-7 deer feeding roads side on the property. One of them a fawn with spot. And not faint remnants of them either, a strong defined coat. Nov. 30th in NY. Crazy.

If you or a family member finds itself looking for a change in life.....look into Phoenix and the absolutely BOOMING economy developing here around several industries....including the Chip manufacturing biz of Taiwan Semi Conductor....here in North Phoenix. LOTS of good jobs available for anyone that has some skills or even the ability to show up for work. If I were a young person looking for an opportunity....I'd have a hard time looking past Phoenix......Just sayin....

Hard pass for me but I can see why it's appealing for retirees.

I have been to Phoenix several times, no desire to go back other than the good BBQ, but I can get that elsewhere. My oldest son that has bad allergies went out there in the spring and told me how great it was and how he could breath. I took him back in August and he lasted one day before he bought his own ticket to get out of the desert.

Yep....no doubt the Summer's are rough in Phoenix. Most people go from AC to AC during those times....pretty much like winter in MN....only from Heat to Heat. Still.....opportunity abounds for those that can endure the summer heat. As they say....it's a dry heat. I can handle up to 105 or so outside......but those higher temps are oppressive.

Swat it's just plain hot. You can't get away from heat. As maverick said it's no good

OK....but if you really are that sensitive to the heat....their are lots of cooler climates than Phoenix. Only an hour and a half away are Sedona and Prescott....and lots of smaller towns in that area....and all are at a higher elevation.....and thus lots cooler in mid-summer. I know several people here in the area that own a second home at these elevations to get away from mid-summer heat. To them....it's like having a cabin in northern MN to get out of the city at times. Same stuff / different motive.

I actually think that Prescott may be the best kept secret in the USA. They do have four seasons....but kinda like southern MO has four seasons. Quite milld temps in the summer....and lots of nice weather in the winter....with a few days with snow on the ground. Prescott may be my first choice for a place to live....from what I know today. Still....no place is right for everyone.

Aren't there like 6 lanes of highway into and out of the Phoenix area? Aren't they almost all full most of the time? No thanks

Yep....on some roads. But you could say the same about most big cities these days. The city life is not for everyone. I do live about two miles from I10....which has about 4 or 5 lanes in each direction. We do not go on that road at certain hours of the day. No need to do so. Lots of other venues to travel. I'm sure to some downtown working fools this sucks. But for many more.....it's a non event.

You can say the same thing about I35 in Minneapolis. It sucks some times each day. When you live in the area.....you know those times.

Traffic for me is really no big deal. Nor the heat....as we escape the summer heat for MN. I am in no way saying this climate is perfect 365 for everyone.....but many find allot of opportunity here.....and can deal with the traffic and weather. MN Is not for everyone either. I despise the winter there these days.....sorry, but it sucks.

The desert and mountains here really do offer allot to hold your interest....if you give it a try. True, it's different from the midwest.....but so is much of the world.

Hard pass for me too. I think that's my least favorite place I've visited. It's a depressing, dead, dry landscape. We took a 60 mile ride in a razor in the desert as well as hiked to the top of camelback mountain and took in the scenery. Rocks, sand, cactus, and heat. I need better nature than that. 🙂
On the other hand, my wife and daughter loved it there.

Prescott is nicer. I can’t say much. I live in NE metro ATL and work by the Braves stadium. Not downtown but not much different. 33 miles takes me around 30 minutes in the morning but the drive home average is around 1.5 hours.

Prescott, Williams, Jerome, Sedona and the surrounding vicinity is a pretty special area. Lots of stuff to do and see and plenty of places to eat, etc. I like doing some off-roading with my Jeep on the trails in that area. Lots of old mining towns and sights to see. Of course all the nicest areas in this country are now becoming too crowded for many of us. Some of these areas were especially nice before we became "over-populated". Getting hard to get away from people these days.

Absolutely a case to each their own. I love a corn field, whitetails, rain, and cold. But I’ve also lived in Colorado and while it was amazing, I could never trade mule deer and elk and trout for whitetails and being and active manager on my own land. Hard to do out west.

Dog i totally understand. I did hunt whitetails in big sky and it was nice but living there I don't think so. Sorry foggy I'm not buying living in Phoenix it's 38 here in michigan now and ice fishing hopefully on the way. The 90 days of michigan summer is all I can stand now. I know SD will be preaching about summer heat days and I get it but he's the magician. We all have our ways. If I was tell you the truth I would be living about 30 miles south of Delhi India for the winter eating Chloe butteras if you haven't been to shickshinny Pennsylvania you aint ever been anywhere. That's what new Yorkers tell me. Luv this forum it is a great place to vent and some unbelievable comrads. Just no vodka. Lolll

Added some graphics to my golf cart today. Gotta go with the patriotic image. Of course we all put American flags on our carts and our favorite football team, etc. SKOL!

Rough day here in the desert today......Highs about 78 degrees....and not a cloud in the sky. Normally calm winds too. You can have your ice to walk on....I'll put mine in a glass. FORE!

That golf cart goes 32 MPH....on lithium battery. Recharges in two hours. Walk-away automatic braking system. Nice! Tomorrow I will add under body lighting. lol
