Uncatagorized.....things we see....

Regarding the weather here in OZ.........I'd venture to guess that over 60% of the people that reside here are from MN / WI / IL / Iowa / Dakotas. They all relocated here at some point in time. When you ask 'em....none of them want to live life up on the Tundra anymore.....too damn cold for most of them. There are a few exceptions.....but most love the weather here. If not for family.....we would consider it. I'd just go into the nearby higher elevations in summer.....the heat becomes a non-event. Many also travel in the summer.

Yep....on some roads. But you could say the same about most big cities these days. The city life is not for everyone. I do live about two miles from I10....which has about 4 or 5 lanes in each direction. We do not go on that road at certain hours of the day. No need to do so. Lots of other venues to travel. I'm sure to some downtown working fools this sucks. But for many more.....it's a non event.

You can say the same thing about I35 in Minneapolis. It sucks some times each day. When you live in the area.....you know those times.

Traffic for me is really no big deal. Nor the heat....as we escape the summer heat for MN. I am in no way saying this climate is perfect 365 for everyone.....but many find allot of opportunity here.....and can deal with the traffic and weather. MN Is not for everyone either. I despise the winter there these days.....sorry, but it sucks.

The desert and mountains here really do offer allot to hold your interest....if you give it a try. True, it's different from the midwest.....but so is much of the world.
Big city? No thanks. Plus, I'm retired anyway. I head to FL after I've had enough deer season. Fish Lake O, hog hunt, golf...

Dog great game but with the new format championship games will be a thing of the past. In this case Texas actually wins by losing cause they get the 5th seed and a way easier path to championship. With your qb out the dogs got some reel tough sledding now

Well the only silver lining is it’s not like the backup is some bum off the street. He’s a former 5 star high school player with offers from most major programs. Hopefully with the extended break he can fill the roll nicely.

My FL experiences are not good. High traffic everywhere.....gotta make restaurant reservations days in advance. Crazy busy place. Over priced everything. Tourist traps. Too many snooty east coast people. Humidity. Bugs. Hurricanes.....and expensive. You really cannot use the ocean or afford to live on the ocean.....just look at it....if you can park 1/2 mile away at a meter and lug a cooler and chairs to watch the sun go down (big whoop). Yadda Yadda.

I wish they would fill in the ocean and make more deer and turkey habitat

Dog i totally understand. I did hunt whitetails in big sky and it was nice but living there I don't think so. Sorry foggy I'm not buying living in Phoenix it's 38 here in michigan now and ice fishing hopefully on the way. The 90 days of michigan summer is all I can stand now. I know SD will be preaching about summer heat days and I get it but he's the magician. We all have our ways. If I was tell you the truth I would be living about 30 miles south of Delhi India for the winter eating Chloe butteras if you haven't been to shickshinny Pennsylvania you aint ever been anywhere. That's what new Yorkers tell me. Luv this forum it is a great place to vent and some unbelievable comrads. Just no vodka. Lolll

I did my student teaching in Shickshinny. I'm in White Haven now. If you're ever through, everyone tries the diner hamburgers.

Roger glad to hear it. Hope you're doing well

We should change this forum to Foggies life style of the rich and famous. We can talk about 38 mph e golf carts. Looking down from king of the mountain on Phoenix. When all discing will cease to stop soil erosion. Organic matter and lime deficiency. Foggy your awesome man

32 MPH. 38 is way too fast for a golf cart. After about 2 beers.....32 can feel too fast for some of us seniors. Lots of injuries from folks running into curbs. lol.

I just got to let foggy know that some of us like Minnesota winters. I have been able to ice fishing and there is no snow in our yard.

Foggy, as of Friday your lake was pretty much ice free. The high winds probably opened it up more.

So how's fishing Bill

Careful now. That's my playground even though I never go to the beach. 😁
So Bill......with your considerable experience with hunting and fishing........which costs more per lb? .....a pound of fish, or a pound of venison? Ever done the math??

Never do the math....... We would all sit in the house and worry about things. Venison is hands down cheaper by the pound if you're comparing it to offshore fishing. Land appreciates, Boats depreciate. One canyon run is about 250 gallons of diesel, 300 lbs of ice minimum if you use it or not. Bait and incidentals add up. Good thing we split the costs between at least 4 of us! I need to figure out how to make it a write off like the guys with the really big boats do. No proof but I swear the guys that own big boats and operate them as charters hire a captain and crew to run the charters and it's a write off against their business that makes money. No way a charter boat ever covers total cost.

Offshore fishing makes no financial sense. It's just something that gets in your blood.
I love shooting a deer but it's quick. When a critter is still peeling drag after an hour of fighting it's hard to describe.

Bill How far is a canyon run one way How deep is it and the main species you fish for there. How big is your boat.
