Okay, I don't like this at all. What's it doing hanging around? Two days in a row? The only food around is in the cabin at the bottom of this trail. (Which for some reason after almost 70 years, certain members of my family still haven't learned is a terrible idea.)Mister (?) Bear made an appearance again this morning. Surprising to see one twice in two months. Normally I see them once every 3-4 years.
Don't like it really. Makes me worry about damage to the cabin. Plus it might temp someone to shoot it. ("What did I do that for!?") It's not terribly large.

I used to love sleeping in the woods. Fall turkey/squirrel hunting was my favorite time of year. Walk and nap, walk and nap. A wonderful way to spend a day. Then that big bear tore the side of the house open. And my neighbor got cam pics of a big putty cat that the state says doesn't live here. And lots and lots of coyotes. And my willingness to nap was greatly reduced.![]()

They don't look great, but they're coming out of the most nutritionally stressful portion of their lives if they have fawns. Are you seeing many fawns around?Am I being oversensitive because we are dealing with ehd, or do these does look bad?

I have one or two does on camera that look similar but the vast majority have a gut on them. Next few weeks will be critical for them to pack it on for the skinny ones, if they aren't actually sick.Am I being oversensitive because we are dealing with ehd, or do these does look bad?

With the acorn crop everyone is reporting this year, it isn't it all surprising for deer to disappear.Yeah good amount for sure…bucks on the other hand. Nonexistent

He’s hungry and eating crickets and grasshoppers. Steak sometimes. Hotdogs other times. Just my guess. This owl has me puzzled. There has got to be some benefit to where it is setting. MULTIPLE though not every night, it is in a picture or 2 setting in this portion of the plot. Anybody have a guess or maybe there is an owl behaviorist amongst us who can scientifically enlighten us.Setting on the ground in general does not seem like common owl behavior in my book.View attachment 83247
