Tool'n Knife Builds

Very nice looking knife. It would look real nice in my FL house. Available?
Yes it is. Message me if your serious.

Message sent. Thank you

Just a testament to Tooln's knives. I have several of his that I take pretty good care of... but I keep one in the door of my truck for work use. Had to weld up a new gate and whatnot a few days ago and had his knife out for hazard duty, thought I'd take a pic and show some love. It's been through hell and takes a beating. He makes good stuff!

Thanks Cat. A lot of my customers have them up on display, and never use them. I know that you use and abuse them. I'm glad to hear that it's holding up for you.

When I started making knives I never thought it would turn into what it has. About a month ago I was asked if I would be open to an interview. This article was published in a special Made In Wisconsin section of several small local weekly papers.

Edit last night when posting I thought I had the entire article. This AM I found 2 emails in my spam folder with more of the article. Will update the link later as I'm remote now.

EDIT Now the entire article is posted.

Here's one that had me thinking. Cyber truck owner wanted a cyber knife, so the blade is the side profile of the truck. Handle straight lines and sharp edges like the truck. Since the truck is stainless so is the knife. The handle is clear epoxy with silver glitter. He was very happy with it. truck design.jpg20250826_101144.jpg20250826_101207.jpg

Working on something different, a boot Dagger. I've never made/ground a Dagger before. Here's my first attempt made from an old file. I currently have the handle scales epoxied on. Will post pics once it's done. Since it turning out pretty good my next one will be in Damascus.20251124_103806.jpg

I like the file teeth still showing thru on the dagger adds a little something to that one.

I think I was knife buyer #1. As the Virginia Slim's adds used to say: "you've come a long way baby". Grin. Kudo's Mike.

Yes you were 5-6-21 to be exact. Number 239 & 240 being shipped out today to the East coast. My first knives were done with a cheap 1x30" harbor freight belt sander/grinder. It took hours to grind bevels because is had such a small motor. It was also very hard to grind a straight bevel with such a narrow belt. I've upgraded my equipment and skills along the way.

Finished this up a few days ago. Turned out nice, nice enough I've another ready to heat treat only in Damascus this time.

Very nice!!!

A while back a forum member came to me with a special request. He had very little from his father but one thing he did have was an old file that was used on his garden tools. He had seen that I made a knife from a file and asked if I could do the same with his dads file. When I heard the story I couldn't say no. We exchanged messages and a phone call and came up with a plan. The file came in the mail today. Next step would be to get a drawing or 2 for approval. The plan so far is to keep the original file handle as the knife handle. Since the file is fairly long to keep proportions right there would be some extra file not used. This will be made into a smaller knife for his brother. I asked if posting this build would be ok and he gave me to thumbs up, but I will not mention who it is for. He can claim this if he wants. I'm trying to fit this in my current build list so it will get worked on a little here and there as time allows.
