I think I've figured out a way to finally put to rest the question of whether or not the earth is flat, and we can do it before 2023 is over. No links or memes or papers. We'll have to go outside and do science on our own.

Where could we find a large enough land mass that we were absolutely certain that it was the same uniform elevation over a number of miles, and without obstruction so that we could test to see for curvature?

When could we do it so there would be no interference from wave action?

And how will we know at which height to place a spotting scope, and at what distance the curvature of the earth should completely block the view of a 3'x3' sheet of plywood on the back side of the horizon? Through a 60x Vortex Diamondback HD spotting scope, at 3.9 miles, that sheet of plywood will appear as if it is 115 yards away to the naked eye. If the earth is flat, we will see it. If it is a ball, it will be completely obstructed by the curve.

In reality......we fooled around making blackpowder to pack into our homemade rockets trying to outdo the Russians whom had launched their "Spudnick" rockets. Man.....I am glad we did not perfect our ability to make gunpowder.

LOL, that's awesome. Raise your hand if: you've ever spent hours unwrapping firecrackers to get the powder to make a bigger one, or made a bigger or smaller rocket engine fit cause that's all you had left, or had a BB gun fight, or about caught the house on fire with your wood burning kit...the list goes on and on....
according to today's standards, it's a true miracle I'm still alive with both eyeballs in me head!

Is that an ever-so-slight arc to the horizon I see there?!
