Saw a post on Facebook that Allen Deese is leaving The Wildlife Group and going to Native Forest Nursery. In the comments it said they Will be only be open thru this winter. TWG had some good varities of Pears , Glad I got some Gilmer Christmas and Wildlife pear trees last year !. No Real info other than that , maybe somebody will buy it and keep it open ?.

That sucks. They had a few items that Nativ Nurseries does not carry that I wanted to get planted this winter. Maybe I can get them before they close up shop.

I'd e mail them now and ask if they will be able to ship what you want this fall or winter.

The AU buck chestnut patent expires January 2028. I wish it was sooner

I was looking at those for a while, but then when I found out they are not grafted and hoping for proper pollination I became skeptical.

Watched several tree nursery inventories this past season. Many had unsold inventory. Might see a few more places evaporate in the next couple of years, if not sooner.

Pears are pretty easy to graft........

I’ve had great luck out of mine. The seedlings do so much better in the ground than grafted trees.

That would be nice. So many people jumped on the I could make some quick cash if I only opened a nursery business (maybe as a result of the Covid lockdown) a few years ago. I believe I have finally seen less advertising by a few that were splashing their name everywhere. I called out a few of them on Facebook over the last year or 2 on their false claims, but that gets tiring as well.

Dang I wanted to order some Chinese chinquapins from them

I’ve got several of their late drop pear trees and the AU Buck seedling trees not the grafted ones maybe in a few more years I’ll be able to speak for how they produce.

If it’s not grafted, what are the chances it will have the drop characteristics of the parent tree though?
