Looks really good Scott. What was your seed mix, and especially - what was the rate per acre for each seed?
50-60 lbs of rye and oats, 25-30 lbs peas, 25 lbs sunflowers, 5 lbs radishes, 10 lbs red clover, 5-10 lbs hairy vetch, I mixed it in the tub with my sorghum mix so I see some buckwheat in there, there might have been 10-15 lbs of this sorghum mix

Tried this method with brassicas on a small plot with great success. Top dressed some more fertilizer before a recent rain too.

Love seeing all the pics of others plots.

Had my first try at T&M on Monday. Had a 1/4 acre plot of buckwheat that was tilled and planted end of July, before I discovered this site and this method. I wanted to get my winter rye and clover in this week since I won't have much time to do so in the next few weeks. Also didn't have time to spray gly, so hopefully the weeds don't take over before the WR gets a foot hold. Wanted a bit more thatch to cover the seeds, but I gave it a go anyways. Put the brushog about as low as I could get it and mowed away. I'll be back to check the field on the 24th, so we will see how it goes.

A few pictures from yesterday. These plots were mowed about two weeks prior to planting (August 1). Seeded, sprayed, and cultipacked.

For comparisons, this was planted in clover and wheat at the same time as the above plots. Bare dirt, seeded, then packed. No thatch and not much progress. I believe this plot will make it but I suspect germination rate will be low and it will be more dependent on timely rains for a while than my normal plots.

Those are some impressive comparison photos Catscratch. What part of the world are you located in?

Here's some winter rye coming up. Had a nasty patch of crabgrass here. Had a couple of 3 minute showers while I was spraying, but still got a
good burn. After spreading the rye we got 4 inches of rain within the next 36 hours. Didn't get it mowed til a day after the rain.

Some brassicas from a month ago getting light browsing.

Had a spot where a couple of sample packs of seed didn't germinate, probably from lack of thatch. So I spread some oats and covered it with horse manure.

Throw n mow I put out Monday got rain Thurs and Fri. Lot of germination already. Grocery store beans and peas are reaching for that soil and should be fine if it doesn't get real hot and windy the next couple of days.

Catscratch, after seeing this post I went and bought a couple bags of grocery store beans. Pinto and Northern. I threw them out with the mix that I had already thrown and then I mowed shortly thereafter.

Seeds without thatch over them are clearly lagging behind.
The skunk thing was just something I saw on Facebook this morning that made me smile.

Lol, I've corrupted you! Looks like the beans are doing great. You'll have to keep us up to date on if the deer like them and how cold hardy they are.
Thatch is key. Without thatch things stuggle.

I wanted to try this method and planned on spraying this weekend but there is a high percentage of rain for Sunday on thru the week. My question is, if I spray tomorrow will I be wasting Gly if it rains?
