The Organic Farmer has returned

SmallTime

Yearling... With promise
A head on high speed collision had me down for a while after I had found this site.
While I'm still not 100% (can't draw a bow shoot a rifle or drive a tractor) my wife bought me a video camera to occupy my time.
Here's a video that I shot off the deck of the house.
Enjoy it then I'll comment after. (first time I used a video camera, downloaded to computer then uploaded to utube.)

What you probably noticed was a nice rack on a mature body , then decided to shoot.
What I want you to notice is that he just emerged from an over grown fence line which had a 10' natural weed line. then about 80 yards of a Brome and Orchard grass field, with plenty of natural weeds. ( half a deers diet is forbes)

You'll see a quick zoom back showing my truck in the driveway, then a strip of harvested bean field.
My point is it doesn't take a picture perfect "deer magnet" over priced specialty field to grow and keep good bucks and healthy deer.

Also notice his hock staining and her's.

So glad you were able to make a recovery. Unfortunately that is a situation that generally does not have a good outcome.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Welcome back and thanks for sharing the video. I pray your recovery continues to progress.

BTW, that's a great looking buck. And his tarsal staining .

Glad to see you recovering! You are spot on with your assessment. I'm beginning to think in terms of wildlife openings rather than food plots.

Thanks,

Jack

First off sorry to hear of your MVA
Glad your progressing in your recovery
Vehicles are much safer these days but
Head on and Side impacts can still be nasty. Seen multiple fatalities as a result them

Great buck! Glad you migrated back to HT! Great place to stay entertained while your recovering. Especially now that the buckchaser is back;) lol

Hope your recovery stays on track. Thanks for posting the video. Real nice scene.
