The dog spot

If I put those on Kevin's head he'd run through a wall trying to get it off!!
You can do anything to the older one, she doesn't care about anything. It stayed on the pup about just long enough to take the pic. Then had to take it away quick before she shredded it. Anybody know of any good cloth indestructible dog toys. Regular toys she shreds in about 30 seconds. I just bought her an "Invincible" toy from Bass Pro. That one lasted about 3 minutes before she ripped the face of it off.

My boy Remy Bo. Rabbit hound extraordinaire and all-around good boy.

I'm finding out more and more that it's much easier to instil good behavior in puppies than train bad behavior out of young dogs. This is why I usually like getting my pups at 49 days...not 8 months! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade him, but he is proving to be a challenge!

My baby girl…Darcy.
If I’m not working she is with me, game for anything with feathers. I’ve never hunted with anything like her. Five and a half years old now.

gotta love dogs! I’ve always been a dog person but I’ve been without for a few years now.

I got Remmy as a sophomore in college at NDSU. I stretched a 4 year degree into 6 years with him by my side and we tried to chase waterfowl in Saskatchewan, ND, SD, MN, MT, and NE most years as much as my credit cards would allow! I wouldn’t be surprised if he retrieved over 1000 birds in his life. Didn’t have what it took to be a competitive trial dog but he was pretty dialed in the field. We lived together in 14 different houses or apartments as I followed my projects around the country.

Leading the mount out of the stalls is great!

Great thread, can't believe I didn't see it earlier.

Coal is now 8 years old and has been the better hunting out of my two dogs that I've had. His drive is endless which makes him a superb upland dog. When he was a puppy I went to ND on a rooster hunt with a few short-haired pointing dogs and by the end of the 4 day trip he started pointing birds himself, he was 11 months old with zero pointing in his bloodlines. We've been on some absolute banger hunts together which makes everything that much sweeter.
As I've gotten more into whitetail hunting lately in addition to two young kids at home, my time/training with him has taken a back seat. While unfortunate, we are still best friends and he meets me at the door every night when I get home from work which always brings a smile to my face. He's wonderful with the kids, from the moment my wife got pregnant he turned into their protector...he doesn't take kindly to any strangers in or around the house.
I hope to squeeze in a snow goose hunt with him this spring, but I for sure owe him some rooster hunting this fall, he has a few good years left.

I see someone is a SERIOUS bird hunter. Great pics!

My buddy and constant companion in the field ... Thor. He is getting older and slowing down as he has arthritis in his hips, but he still has that puppy enthusiasm.

Bailey our chocolate lab. Three major knee surgeries on back legs and she had the one front leg amputated because of an aggressive infiltrative lipoma. Hasn’t slowed her down much..
