T-bud question

I've seen online where some people use just the rind only and others are using whole chip while t-budding. Just curious which method folks on here are doing. I've been using just the rind only method (second picture).

I was able to do the rind only in almost all of my T buds. A few bud sticks seemed resistant to it. I assumed those were drier and were not slipping. I put the whole chip into the T for those.
