Even SBNY has about $65 billion in deposits not covered by FDIC. The banks are not doing well since the open. I'm guessing everyone else is doing the numbers on a napkin and realizing $25B will not cover $18 trillion in deposits."Depositors will have access to all of their money starting Monday, March 13. No losses associated with the resolution of Silicon Valley Bank will be borne by the taxpayer."
That's an interesting statement it's almost like they are going to make money out of thin air. I guess my only question would be who is going to pay for it?
I don't hate the U.S. - I hate unbridled GREED and moves made AGAINST American workers. What do you call the offshoring of American jobs that began when Ronald Reagan made his speech to the whole country?? He said, "We're going to change our economy from a manufacturing-based economy to a service-based economy. " I watched the speech, so don't try to allege he didn't say it. That's when the race to leave the U.S began.Sorry to hear of your hatred towards this country.

How is that good for American workers??? Is offshoring America jobs and automation (which eliminates live workers) good for the economy as a WHOLE??? How can people gripe that we need more god-paying jobs here in the U.S. - - - and then cheer for the corporate titans (and the politicians who enable them) who move jobs overseas and automate everything they can??? Are those automated machines going to buy food, finished goods of all sorts, houses, clothing, buy a swimming pool, put on an addition?? So if you're a supporter of offshoring jobs and automation .................. I have to ask ..............
How is THAT pro American???

I know you want to spin this into a political issue that Republicans began.....and that all biz owners are evil. It just did not happen that way. Both democrat and republican administrations had some impact on these moves to offshore many industries. I don't think some of our leaders and planners react until "after-the-fact" in too many cases. The USA was not in a position to produce all the labor, goods and materials needed to advance our economy back in time. But we did not have to do a wholesale move to offshore via our policies and restraints put on business. Those things are contollable and Trump set a good course to get us back in the right direction. Now, you got mumble mouth screwing up at every turn....and flip flopping on the issues at hand. How can a biz rely on future government policy and invest in this country when the current administration threatens them at every turn? You only look at it through your labor-based concerns for higher wages. The USA has driven capitol development offshore for a long time. Capitalism has outperformed any socialist governed economy. It's not "greed" to achieve financial reward for taking a risk. Both parties in many cases have gotten us here....but the Democrats are far worse at it....IMO.I don't hate the U.S. - I hate unbridled GREED and moves made AGAINST American workers. You can't hide from the PAST HUGE mistakes. Lots of people were bamboozled - and are STILL bamboozled. Why would any sane, rational American vote for those who greased / still grease the wheels to eliminate their jobs??? Remember - the BULK of the population IS NOT a rich top executive. The younger generation is smarter and isn't seeing things through rose-tinted, "gosh-golly-gee" glasses.I like to keep my focus on the people causing problems currently.
I'm not sure why you keep trying to put words in my mouth. If you want to get banned that's up to you , but you're not taking me with you.You can't hide from the PAST HUGE mistakes. And how many here remember this - when George H.W. Bush enabled a large Northwestern U.S. lumber co. - I believe it was Louisiana Pacific - to "defund their already over-funded pension plan" - causing their workers to get less than half their promised retirement funds?? There were all levels of workers from that lumber co. that were interviewed on LIVE TV, and they were devastated. I remember one guy saying he expected - as promised - to get $3000 / month, and now it would be less than $1000. Those useless, pesky American workers. The millions that were in that pension fund FOR THE WORKERS- went to the executives' pockets.
For all the Christian folks out there ..... what do you think Almighty God thinks of such maneuvers?? Change the laws so it's not illegal to STEAL from workers' pension funds?? Does that make it right to load one's pockets by reneging on contractual promises??
There used to be a long time member on the forum that always bucked everyone else. Never started anything just poked a stick at it to get a reaction.
He’s not here any longer…
