Stock Market is the bottom in?

My Franklin mutual funds are positive since I dumped a bunch in right at the start of this. My etrade accout is up 50%

I think I might name that etrade account the "No Till Drill Fund"

Scratch that... make it 67% :D

It was jet blue, carnival, and spirit airlines

Well that was a darn good week! 800 points today.

I just can’t understand how we are only 2000 points from the highs, this soon.

Between the fed, federal government, and the drop in mortgage rates, the money supply expanded by an amount roughly equal to 2/3-3/4 of the value of the low point in the S&P 500 in about 6 weeks thanks to CEJ-19 (CottonEye Joe). Imagine how much cash would get plowed into the market if the big cities weren't shut down and burning. I'd be on the lookout for Dow 40,000 in the next 12 months more than Dow 20,000.

Glad I bought boeing at $129 a few weeks ago. Hope it sticks

CEJ-19 reference brings a smile

Threw in $$$ at 18,500 on the Dow and it looks great now.

bwoods11 you (and I'm sure others) are da man! I remember you preaching it back at the bottom. You were really confident. I wish I would've gotten in but I just didn't make it happen and honestly didn't really have anything liquid. Oh well there's always the next crisis! Great job guys.

Sometimes you just plain get stupid lucky. After a very drunken Fury/Wilder 2 a friend and I decided that night (Feb 22) to go all cash on everything we owned. I don’t specifically recall if the Rona was a thing then but the next Monday we went all cash in both personal and retirement accounts. It had more to do with recent market all time highs then anything. We really had no clue what was in store but on paper that will appear brilliant but in all honesty it was just pure luck. I wasn’t as lucky putting it all back in but I was close enough to the bottom to reap huge benefits.

Real curious to see what happens Monday! Gonna be epic if Boeing jumps to 300:)

Friday I was texting screen shots of my E*TRADE account to my wife saying “who’s your daddy”;)

This stock market stuff has been a fun venture over the past couple months. I have learned allot. Pretty cool to see a plan come together.

yeah I should have bought Boeing. I was waiting for it to get below $100 again. :(. Got greedy :)

But I’m doing well since March.

Needy never greedy. :emoji_wink:

I have done to well getting out in February and back in March. I showed the wife the stock account and now she is under delusions that we are going to use it for a pool. It has been a fun ride as the country burns and economy is shut down to get rid of the mean orange guy.

We pulled back mid to late last year. Saw a number of signs in the economy that were concerning and the market had been too hot for too long. We weathered the market drop without much issue. A bit of luck, a bit of intuition, and just knowing when to push back from the table.

This market correction was probably due, too bad there are some who have been cheering and wanting this to happen.

The key for some of you is when do you sell, take your gain and pay the capital gains tax, or hold on and ride the long term?

There is an old saying in investing that money never goes the same way always. :emoji_wink:

What is it with women an these damn pools!?
Mine said the same thing! Wants an in ground. After listening to almost every guy in his 40’s an 50’s at work say “ I wish I would have kept this or that stock. I bought it for a song a dance back in the day”. My plan is to just keep feeding my E*TRADE account with all my side work money. Be nice to not have to work till I am 100

For the first time ever, I had been concerned the market was just going to be closed, and kept closed for a prolonged period of time. I think the last time we saw that was 9/11. That made everything different for me. On one hand, it would have helped until calmer heads could have prevailed. On the other hand, if a person moved to cash first, then the market was halted until we'd discover we weren't all going to die, by the time it opened back up, it could have opened 20% higher with no opportunity to try to get back on the train. So I moved differently. I did not sit in cash as I moved around. I hid in SPY until the smoke started to clear.

Other than industries that were directly killed off (air, hotel, dining), it seems like everything has just took off after May 13th. US Bank shot up 35%, XOM +28%, Prudential +36%, Caterpillar +32%. All that happened in about 15 trading days Those were the ones I was worried about most, and in days they just closed the gap like a calf hitting a hot wire for the first time.

My parents filled in their pool last year. It was a very happy time for them. I listened to them bitch about that pool for 35 years. With our two months of summer you have to heat the pool so it becomes a money sink hole.

What's a new one that's gonna rise? I sold out of my Jet Blue and have some earnings to put back in.
