Stock Market is the bottom in?

Corporate "America" has been cutting back on full-time jobs for decades so they don't have to pay any benefits. Decades. And then they tell us that they "appreciate" the American workers - that American workers are the best in the world. It's all BS - the only thing they care about is the bottom line. If anyone thinks businesses respect, appreciate, or "love" their workers ........ I've got a bridge I'll sell you for cheap. Wait until AI kicks in big-time. There'll be millions more put out of work ....... unwillingly. Let's see if those robots, software programs, and computerized systems buy any of businesses' goods and services ............

Why is it that when unemployment numbers are higher, the "business community" likes it?? Because there is a larger pool of people desperate for jobs at any pay level. But when more folks are out of work (unwillingly) businesses b##ch that "nobody's coming in ........ nobody's buying anything." I've seen this over the decades of my lifetime.

More people working / less unemployed = higher worker pay (but not by much) = more buying of things by folks. Fewer people working / more unemployed = lower worker pay / part-time work / reduced or eliminated benefits = folks not buying things, tightening financial belts. Which scenario sounds better for our economy to most people???
So.....what do you propose that "Corporate America" should do? Slow down productivity and add more costs via more labor and less productivity? and charge higher prices for goods and services? Prevent AI from society? Go back to manual filing, typists, book keepers? Provide higher benefits even if it's not affordable?

Sounds like "build back better" to me. If you ever run for public office.....don't count on my vote.

I'm hoping I made a good decision to buy some stock last week. The way the market is today, I wish I would have bought more!

They say September is always a bad month for stocks. Sounds like a good month to buy things at a discount to me. Buy now and wait.

If it's a bad idea to put your money in the bank why would anyone think it's a good idea to buy bank stocks?

A good bank makes a better profit than their customers. Stock is an equity investment. CD's and bank accounts provide just income.....no growth appreciation.

The banks already have a standing bailout for when they need to unload their severely underwater bonds. The dirty deed that will happen is the fed will not bail out all banks. They’re going to allow the big ones to steal the assets of the small banks for pennies on the dollar.

So, there is no free market in banks, but you have to guess who gets to access the bailout fund and who’s gonna get devoured.

Remember the Kodak company? In 1997, Kodak had about 160,000 employees.
And about 85% of the world's photography was done with Kodak cameras. With the rise of mobile cameras over the past few years, Kodak Camera Company is out of the market. Even Kodak went completely bankrupt and all his employees were fired.
At the same time many more famous companies had to stop themselves. Like
HMT (clock)
BAJAJ (स्कूटर)
DYANORA (TV)
MURPHY (RADIO)
NOKIA (Mobile)
RAJDOOT (Bike)
Ambassador (car)
None of the above companies had bad quality. Why are these companies out yet? Because they could not change themselves over time.
Standing in the present moment you probably don't think how much the world could change in the next 10 years! And today's 70%-90% jobs will be completely over in the next 10 years. We are slowly entering the era of "Fourth Industrial Revolution".
Check out today's famous companies-
UBER is just a software name. No, they have no cars of their own. Yet today the world's largest taxi-fair company is UBER.
Airbnb is the largest hotel company in the world today. But funny thing is they don't own a single hotel in the world.
Similarly, examples of countless companies like Paytm, Ola Cab, Oyo rooms etc can be given.
There is no work for new lawyers in America today, because a legal software called IBM Watson can advocate much better than any new lawyer. Thus, almost 90% of Americans will not have any jobs in the next 10 years. The remaining 10% will be saved. These will be 10% experts.
The new doctor is also sitting down to work. Watson software can detect cancer and other diseases 4 times more accurately than humans. Computer intelligence will surpass human intelligence by 2030.
90% of today's cars will not be seen on the roads in the next 20 years. Leftover cars will either run by electricity or hybrid cars. The roads will slowly become empty. Gasoline consumption will decrease and oil producing Arab countries will slowly become bankrupt.
If you want a car you have to ask for a car from a software like Uber. And as soon as you ask for a car, a completely driverless car will come and park in front of your door. If you travel with several people in the same car, the rent of a car per person will be less than a bike.
Driving without driver will reduce the number of accidents by 99%. And this is why car insurance will stop and car insurance companies will be out.
Things like driving on earth will no longer survive. Traffic police and parking staff won't be required when 90% of vehicles disappear from the road.
Just think, there used to be STD booths in the streets even 10 years ago. All these STD booths were forced to close after the mobile revolution came in the country. Those who survived have become mobile recharge shops. Again online revolution in mobile recharge. People started recharging their mobile online sitting at home. Had to replace these recharge shops again. Now these are just mobile phones to buy and sell and repair shops. But this will also change very soon. Mobile phone sales are increasing directly from Amazon, Flipkart.
The definition of money is also changing. There used to be cash but in today's age it has become "plastic money". Credit card and debit card round was a few days ago. Now that too is changing and the era of mobile wallet is coming. Growing market of Paytm, one click of mobile money.
Those who cannot change with age, age removes them from the earth. So keep changing with the times.
Keep creating great content, keep moving with time.

My portfolio manager just loaded up on some more NVIDA. Must think it's "on sale". Hope he has it right.
The energy stocks are going on sale. I ain't calling the bottom, but we're seeing prices we ain't seen in a while.

I think nokia just merged with AT&T last week? Just going by my fading memory so don't hold me to it.

Verizon bought frontier.

Bought some DJT with the mindset that after the "debate" HYPE will drive the price higher tomorrow even though it has little to nothing to do with the stock. Worth a shot. No pun intended, hopefully there are no shots.

Definitely speculative, but if Trump wins.. it could easily fly to the moon !

On the converse, if he loses it could go to zero. He will become irrelevant so something to think about

DJT could also tank if Trump sells a bunch (or all) of his 60% ownership to help finance the campaign. I think the earliest he could do that is mid-late September

A move like that would eliminate any chance of getting elected. He needs every vote.

A move like that would not be good for securing any votes for sure.

Just thinking past the AI takeover. Nothing is ever affordable. Corporate "America" has been crying poorhouse since the late 1800's. As Americans, we can all see that the people of Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Pakistan, etc. have it really good because of the altruism of corporate "benefactors."

American workers have been pooped out like yesterday's breakfast, and pooped on by corporate "America." Again ....... let's see if all the AI software, robots, and automated systems will be buying any of the goods and services put forth by the "big business community" when they put millions & millions more people out of work globally. What are the "costs" of less and less and less people working due to AI??? AI gonna come into your store and buy something?? Build a house - or remodel one?? Buy a vehicle?? Buy food?? Clothes?? Boats or 4-wheelers??

Is it more "efficient" to have a devastated workforce, with millions and millions more people forced out of work??? The folks who are marketing AI don't even try to hide the huge numbers of people that will be forced out of work. The AI companies readily state that millions and millions more people will be terminated. Rosy picture for the global economy, huh???

So, what do you propose "Corporate America" should DO?? Pass laws to outlaw efficiency? Stop using robotics? No more Computers? No more assembly lines? Go back to hand made, one at a time goods?

Times are definitely changing and always have. Look at efficiency and productivity differences over the decades. Henry Ford made the assembly line make cars affordable for the masses. Buggy whips and horse carriage business's suffered. I do agree there are big changes coming. Always happens with progress and greater efficiency.

I have to ask myself.....would I rather have lived in....say, the 1400's?? Average life span was pretty short, education almost non existiant. Health care sucked. Worked dusk to dawn for some king or was a soldier in somebody's army, or a slave, in order to eat. Consider where mankind has been....and advances by humans may be better than you say.

Again......what do you propose we do? Ignore changes and new methods? Go backwards? What do you want to do? Just blame "Corporate America"?

I suggest you watch the movie......Who Moved my Cheese? (seriously).
