Sheds

That is exactly where I think they are, or in the native grass pasture right next to it.
The cameras are showing about half the bucks have shed. Seeing around 30 deer in the evenings over there when I drive by.

Only downside is it keeps snowing off and on here.
So did you check the big woods yet?

Do you know that deer, dawgs?

Yeah he’s a regular. Well as of this year. I can’t say I knew him last year but he may not have stood out. Was cool to find both in the middle of the woods about 10 yards apart. I’ve only found one other shed this year. I’m watching three bucks right now with both sides still

Sweet! Looks like he could try or be a 12 soon.

Had 2 on cam still holding one side yesterday. I haven't paid much attention to typical drop times beyond seeing a bunch drop in Jan a couple years ago when the winter was brutal. Seems late though.

Haha, must be a healthy 1! With this early spring I'd imagine the headgear is going to be popping here soon. I had to plant a bunch of tulip bulbs my wife had shipped over from Holland last fall and they're already 2" out of the ground.

I watched 6 bucks with both sides this weekend and 1 with one side. It’s crazy

We had a day Saturday.

27 sheds and 2 deadheads.
the big one was the guy I couldn't find last fall. Found him 150 yards from the back porch of the cabin. In the thick stuff. Killed a doe with the gun and was sitting 75 yards from the guy. That sucks.

Did find 1 unfortunate forky. Poor guy never got out of the way when the old rotten oak fell. He had his head out the front and his legs out the back. So he was alive when this thing hit him.

Wow! I’ve only seen this one other time with a coyote. Great finds!

April 4 and this one is still holding on one side… I am seeing others with velvet starting to show.

At first glance I thought I might have found the 5th spike of the season. Unfortunately no. I won't tell anyone when that realization happens and I become multidimensional, but there will be signs. There will be a rash of 220 typicals and 380 non-typicals killed (by strangley enough some of my closest friends). And a new variety of corn will become available that kills coons while doubling ears every time one is eaten. There will also be a huge increase in blue-wing teal, Quail, and prairie chickens in south central KS.

Out scouting today and found a shed that I thought was maybe a year old just from the grime and moss on it. Got it home and compared it to another shed I found last year and think maybe there's a decent chance it's same buck. The sheds were about a half mile apart.

I don't find a lot of sheds so when I do it's always a treat.
