Swampwalker
Yearling... With promise
I’m in west Michigan. We’ve had badger on and off our place for quite a few years.Interesting my buddy in northern Michigan had a close up encounter with a badger last week. First one I have heard of in these parts.
Maybe 8 years ago I set up a camera on a den entrance in the side of a ridge on our place and kept the camera on the den entrance for about a year. At first I got regular pictures of the badger for a while and then it moved on and would return to the den occasionally, maybe once or twice in a few weeks time. Once it abandoned the den I got pictures of some coons that took up residence for a while and then they were displaced by a fox that took possession of the den and raised a litter of pups in it.
Once the fox vacated the den I got pictures of deer checking out the entrance and turkeys scratching in the large dirt pile outside the den entrance. Amazing how many critters were drawn to that den entrance in the course of a year.
