Securing fruit trees to stakes.

I am sure it is on here somewhere but I’m scrambling to get all these fruit trees in the ground before it gets cold again and the April showers begin. What is everyone using these days as the standard for securing fruit trees to tree stakes? I used a bunch of hose last year with some wire and even large plastic ties. It’s okay but I’m sure there are better ways.

I use zip ties. Others use Ag-Lock/Quick-Lock ties. Both seem to work well.

Aglock here

Last batch I did took the utility knife and cut thin strips outta the landscape fabric I was using and tied em with that

Pantyhose work well.
But the wife gets mad. Use old ones.
Or use your own. I'm not judging. You're not my neighbor.

I use the old nylons.

I use thick clothesline. The fabric kind not the plastic coated stuff.

Non adhesive Pvc tape, flagging tape.

Often flagging tape, on my young grafted trees where im moving the tie point as they grow on shorter stakes I really like to use that soft rubber coated wire for plants, easily re adjusted.

Ag lock

Good replies thanks. I was in a pinch and used the rubber coated wire I had laying around. I can adjust as needed until the trees can hold their own.

Some garden centers sell the green plastic plant tie tape. It is pretty safe as it with stretch as the tree grows. I found several rolls at Walmart a year or so ago. I've used it for years and have had no problems with it.

I use the garden hose pieces with wire too...just be sure to loosen them up every couple years and slide them up higher until the tree doesn't need the support anymore.
I get crazy wind here at times so I need pretty strong support first five years or so.

I love ag lock because it is cheap and has many uses. It has been the strap on my seed spreader for years. It also holds the tarp on the car port.
