Yes we've had ample rain and the rains we've had have been very timely. As soon as things start to dry out we get another inch or two. I'd have to say we've had just about ideal conditions for it to work but I would have been happy to just get rid of the grass and have the clover take back over. The brassicas are just a bonus!

Good stuff here by all of you. You encourage me to experiment more as well. The deer sure seem to love the variety. Keep this coming please.

That is very much a success! I planted my brassicas here in wilmington, close to the same time frame as you and had the same experience with rain. I wondered how much would be too much. I have a few low spots that had standing water and plants died, but for the most part they seemed to soak it up. How many lbs per acre did you do? I did 5 lbs of a mix of turnips, rape, and radish, and thinking it may be too thick

Mobuckchaser, what date did you seed those?

This was totally unintentional, I've been rolling my last years rye down after I broadcast my brassicas into it well this year July was pretty dry here and the brassicas didn't take off but the clover did, I think the rolled down rye shielded the clover so it didn't get hit with the gly. I have spotty patches through out the brassica plot that are heavy clover and brassicas.

Middle right of the pic is one of these areas.

So yours were about a month ahead of mine. If mine look anything like that in another month I'll be thrilled. Love your video too!

Awesome thread all. Look forward to trying this next year in an old 1/4 acre clover plot

Any updates on what happened to the clover in the spring after the radishes?

Peter

I am in a similar situation- A 5 year old clover plot is being over run by grass and the clover is starting to die off despite frost seeding, mowing and spraying clethodium. (I think the ground got a bit compacted from mowing and running the wheeler over it spreading fert, lime etc) I think I will try and kill the grass off and broadcast brassica, roll and pray for rain at the end of July or early August.
