If I'm reading all this right then, it looks like I should get some ammonium sulfate on ahead of planting (to reduce risk of seed injury), perhaps right after spraying. This would bring with it the sulfur my test is calling for. With a CEC of 8, I can't use more than 80lbs N at a time anyway.
So...
Old plot: 1/6th acre
Expansion: 1/10th acre
North: 1/8th acre
I'm planning for one shot of AMS to deliver some starter nitrogen and sulfur. If AMS is 21-0-0-24, that means I should be using:
Expansion: 12 lbs AMS at burn down, (gives me 26lbs N/ac 30lbs S/ac), 16 lbs Urea 30-40 days after emergence.
North: 16 lbs AMS at burn down, (26lbs N/ac 30lbs S/ac), 21 lbs Urea 30-40 days after emergence.
Old Plot: 3lbs sulfur before we harrow the surface at planting.
I've got a fertilizer plant south of me a few miles. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if I can get my hands on a few buckets of Agrotain-treated Urea. That'd about make it fool proof I think.
Am I missing anything?
