The other day I did a video on the benefits of the NitroBoost - even into the winter.
We often see some of the sorghum stand back up (depending on termination method).
This doesn’t inhibit the growth of the carbon load (fall plot) but does act as some moderate cover and the seed head occurs - before the first frost.
As the snow is slowly melting on the farm, we see the fields loaded with deer, eating all the greens that are in Carbon Load. However- in areas where the sorghum popped back up and finished a grain head - we see the deer also focusing on this as a great late season food source.
This is another reason why the 1-2 system is so great for soils and wildlife!

We talk a lot about soil health and timber here - they are certainly correlated.
This is why cutting trees is so critical to wildlife. A deer is going to eat a majority of their diet on native Forbes/browse. If your goal is better soil, you need to be sure that you are supporting your deer herd with adequate food, so you can grow enough tonnage in your fields without it all walking off in a deers rumen. This is not easy (in high dpsm areas) but it’s well worth the effort. This often means cut more trees, harvest more does, and/or plant more food or a mixture of all the above.
This type of forest management is also beneficial to various wildlife species. These browsable buds are loaded with nutrients for your deer herd to consume and are the best supplemental food you can provide.

Dozer is home! The opportunity to manage and chase deer like this is never lost on me.I am so fortunate to have a great farm and permission farms to hunt. Great family and friends to share it with and a wife who supports my insane passion for whitetails.
Also - a lot of luck goes into it as well.

I’ve never taped them fully. I believe the one on left was 21.5 or 22.5. I never taped the others at all. I sure like them, regardless!! Thanks for reading and comment sir.
