He burns his summer/browse release plot late summer. It was so dry last year plot had gotten kind of weedy. He doesn’t use herbicides so he burned it.

It killed most of weeds and low stuff, but actually stimulated his grain (Milo) and caused it to shoot up a bunch of new shoots. Then planted his fall release into it like he normally does in fall.

May be a good play in really dry summer like last one was.

Being in Texas, I basically can’t safely do growing season burns. We stay too hot and too dry. I loved the results he had from that burn, though!

Not happening in SW AR either. We are under a burn ban almost every Aug and Sept. Also, I dont carry nearly enough liability insurance to burn down here in summer.
