We are a Toyota family with the exception of Logan's Duramax that he needs for work. We all love ours, but no way I'd buy one of those new twin turbo V6 units. We planned on getting the wife a new Sequoia in 26 until they made that change.
If I was getting a new truck now it would be GMC 2500 with the 6.6 gas or diesel.
I will let you research it and make your own decision, but it's not for me for a long term vehicle. Agreed that the Taco's are a little snug. What's going on with the twin turbo? Says it has close to 400hp?
I really like the look of the Tacoma but they are just to small, I got in one with my wife and our shoulders almost touched,,,and back seat on the 4 door was super cramped.
I can think of one con: the price.
Do they not sell Hilux in the US?
I don't trust anything with a turbo. Heard of too many problems and hella expensive to fix.I will let you research it and make your own decision, but it's not for me for a long term vehicle. Agreed that the Taco's are a little snug.
I’ve heard the same….but, bought a brand new Chevy Cruze in 2014 with turbo for a work car. Thing gets almost 40 mpg, it is still going strong with over 257K miles on it now.I don't trust anything with a turbo. Heard of too many problems and hella expensive to fix.
The reports on the chevy 1500 baby duramax 3.0 seem to be overwhelmingly positive. I am getting closer to my last truck and right now, it is at the top of my list
we are on our 3rd 4 runner in 16 years now (wife) and if a Tundra runs and lasts like those do....
