Lime through a seed spreader?

Has anyone tried spreading pell lime with this or a similar seed spreader? I only have about 6 bags to put down this spring and was hoping I could use this to get a better/quicker coverage vs tossing it one handful at a time. I just don't want to wreck my spreader.

I have and I have wrecked the spreader. I guess if you cleaned it properly it could work. Mine was not cleaned very well.

Recently I have used my push type spreader that I use to treat my lawn. So far a good shot from the garden hose has kept it working.

Pellet lime should work in that spreader. Just wash it good when done. I use my earthway to spread fertilizer every year for the past 3 years and it still going strong.

Good enough for me. I'll risk it. If I blow it, I'm out $30. Mostly I didn't want to break it mid-project.

I use it to spread a few bags of pel lime in my yard at home every year.

i used the same spreader to spread peletized lime and didn't have any problems. works great.
