How to property window screen a young tree

So if you guys use window screens, how do you wrap the tree, do you stake this screening?

I put an inch or two of dirt around the base of the screen to keep the mice from digging in. I also use plenty of screen and double or quadruple it on the sw side to shade the trunk during the winter.

I also may not know what I am doing!

Did you see the voles/mice titled thread?

Yeah it was late last night, i try not to panic myself thinkin about all the steps of this process. :)

I've never staked to the ground, just staple every 1-2" on all edges tight to the tree and pull down tight to the ground. Never had problem.
