sandbur 5 year old buck + Mar 21, 2015 #2 I put an inch or two of dirt around the base of the screen to keep the mice from digging in. I also use plenty of screen and double or quadruple it on the sw side to shade the trunk during the winter. I also may not know what I am doing!

Maya 5 year old buck + Mar 25, 2015 #6 I've never staked to the ground, just staple every 1-2" on all edges tight to the tree and pull down tight to the ground. Never had problem.
