fishing reports

Lmao, i understand completely, my boy and grandson are the same way! Of course we snag them, it's a blast, and will wear your ass out. Normally we'll fish half a day and catch 3-4, anywhere from 20-90 lbs, but we have had 20+ fish days. We'll have to wait till the end of March thru April when they're running up the river, tho. (Grand river between Ft Gibson lake and Hudson Lake)
The world record was recently taken out of Keystone lake, 30 minutes from my house. The guy has broken his own record a couple of times in the last year. He's a guide and uses livescope to find them, which I don't have. Google it up. I think a young un from Kansas caught the last one, and is now a world record holder.
When spring time rolls back around, I'll be happy to take you all, especially you Cat! Just know that if anyone gets too cocky, I won't chase the fish down with the trolling motor!
Here's a couple more of my boy and my cousin from that same trip...
Wow! I've never seen them that big. That would really be something different for us. It looks like a blast.

I'll tell you another great fishing trip your boy would love is going to the White River in Arkansas and trout fishing, specifically the Mountain Home area. I fish for trout like i fish for bass: crankbaits, shad raps, husky jerks. Yeah, fly-fishing and bait fishing, too, but I like running and gunning. 2 rivers to fish, the White and the Norfork. Both tailwaters, so having 2 rivers minimizes a possible rainout. Browns, cutthroats, rainbow, brook, even walleyes. It's one of my favorite places I've ever found to freshwater fish. There's an area there that's for 16 yr and younger, single barbless hook, no bait, where your son could catch a trophy. Grandson turned 4 in these pics, and caught a 5 lb brown and a 5lb rainbow by himself on a crappie jig. (we did have to wade in to net the fish tho!) Go once, I guarantee you'll go back again

Outstanding .... it doesn't get any better than that.

Took a break from spraying plots to enjoy some wild trout fishing this past weekend.

Got back on the vise this week. My fly fishing has been wayyy on the back burner for several years but I’m headed out west next week for a fishing trip. I used to multiple times a year but farms and life happened. I missed some tunes and the vise in the evenings

My daughters went fishing by themselves after supper tonight. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Outstanding! Looks like they enjoyed themselves. Had to have been raised right!

Where are you Bill? Need any help skinning those dudes? grin.

They're on ice in a few fridges. I'm Sitting on the couch wondering why after a shower and doing dishes my hands still smell like fish. Deer stink, but dam, it washes off. 😁

Pond King Patriot

Youngest grandson love fishing in the pond behind our house. Needed something to access northern end of the pond. Canoe to flippy. Didn't want drag a jon boat out after every use and turn it over. Found Pond King out of TX that builds mini-pontoons. Ordered this abut 3 months ago. Waited almost 2 months for them to build and ship. Came on a 2 pallets. Assembly was a piece of cake.

The perfect fishing vessel for ponds! Lil' Man and Poppy loving this thing.

We've got a mini pontoon (Hotwoods) with 4 full length toons on it. Absolutely awesome to have on the pond! Extremely stable and easy to maneuver. And like you said you don't have to ever worry about it filling up with water. They are awesome!

Looks like the kid is quite the fisherman!
