Electric bike

If you have relatively flat land.....these are good. Mine has a front basket for a pack and a rifle scabbard. Seat is low enough to firmly plant both feet on the ground. I think I paid about $850 for mine a few years ago. Mine has a long seat cushion for a second rider.....but I would not do that. No suspension, but big tires and you dont want speed.

great question. No I really don’t much. I just hate the sound of the things especially in the dark. Also I wonder if deer aren’t able to somewhat pattern us based on following the sound gas powered vehicles but maybe I’m giving them too much credit.

If I had someone to pickup/drop-off with an ATV/UTV/Pickup/Tractor i'd be all over gas-powered vehicles for access. I worry more about the noise just ending at the hunting location and not continuing away deterring deer from using a spot or further educating on stand sites. If you have to cross high deer use areas to access a hunting spot, I'd take the noise over the ground scent and deterrent of seeing a human walking through the same areas though.

I could definitely see how an area that doesn't have regular motorized traffic especially at dark 30, just the new noise can be an alert that something is different and impact daylight travel in vulnerable locations.

I love the idea of these and looked them up immediately when he was trying it out. It's insane what they are asking for these.
LOL, basically ATV prices.

I see a few of you guys debating buying bikes and just keep your 4 wheelers.

LAst summer there was a guy selling a 2nd muffler for your ATV. I know a muzzleloader rondevous guy who does blacksmithing at events. He has a run of the mill exposed motor generator, but added a car muffler to it. Day n night noise difference. Also, maybe modifying the light system for a red or lower powered white headlight might be the ticket too.

lookup kolpin stealth exhaust system 2.0.

Even just adapting the muffler outlet to a bigger size and adding a 45 degree downturn will quiet things up 20-30%

I generally only drive my ATV hunting if I am going to the back of the hunting lease down a logging road. Saves a mile hike. Many time I wish I didn't have to walk back to the ATV and could still hunt my way back to camp. Other than that, the ATV is for dragging a deer back and thats it for hunting usage. I got about a 20 minute hike to my treestand on the farmland I hunt.

Heard Jake Hofer on his podcast talk about how he has liked his Maverick this year—looks pretty impressive: https://hardcoreecycles.com/product/maverick/

- duel hub motors (1000 and 750 watt)
- no chains
- platform for feet

Jake said it takes the hills great.

Anyone else have first hand experience with these?

I have more power than that and I'm struggling with my hills to the point I gave up. maybe the smaller tires on that one give it more climbing power but I also struggle with rough uneven terrain. Smaller tires will make that worse. I'm sure it's great for people who want to buzz down nice tractor paths.
I roll my eyes every time I see someone acting like they are pulling a deer out with one. Even on flat ground that would be a struggle and completely pointless to do.

Seems like that platform is too low and would easily bottom out on any uneven terrain as well.

I'm considering one of the 4 wheel powered machines but I'm cautious they have the power to climb a 250' bluff road.

Considering a pedal ebike would be about the same height to the crank hub or less when you consider the sprocket, I doubt ground clearance would be an issue with the Maverick. I would be more concerned with the lack of rear suspension. Still a great way to get to your stand quietly and without the smell of gas, oil and grease. Park by your stand and throw a camo net over it.

I’ve been very impressed with the lithium golf cart hunt rigs.
