We use a drone quite often to scout ducks on our lease. 800 acres with 13 lakes from five to forty acres. We usually scout a day or two before hunting. We can see which areas are holding ducks without having to ride by them with a sxs and flush them while we ride to the next lake. I guess in some of these states that would be illegal.

No offense but I think it should be. I get the convenience but I truly believe some things should be unknown. It creates targeted pressure. Say you guys didn’t have the time or effort to go scout all the property and ducks were using an area you didn’t check, well they win that day. As it is you can sit and check everything in 2 minutes and be on the X. I don’t like it but I can’t stop it.

If we are down there with the drone - we have the time - it takes us about 30 min to 45 min to fly it and an hour to ride it. Difference is, we run up some the ducks when we ride it and there are some spots we can see from the drone we cant see from the side by side. I much prefer to ride it. I would say the biggest advantage is that the drone does not scare as many of them as the sxs - but to be honest, generally when you ride by on the sxs, the ducks go right back in. The younger guys believe the sxs is a negative and use their drone. I believe it doesnt matter much and usually ride the sxs when I am scouting. I like to watch them for a little bit

I asked santa for a bait boat for christmas. A boat to bring bait out deeper in the ocean from the shore. Drone are used for that too, some states they're illegal. Some places fishing for sharks is illegal from the shore, o they can probably nail folks on both violations.

I wih they would make commercial fishing with any aircraft illegal. Those guy scoop up a ton of forage bait fish in the ocean.

Not alot of shark fishing in kentucky I can imagine......

I just searched and found that AR G&F has drone laws - AI says in AR, scouting is illegal, AR G&F does not mention scouting - so I dont know. Have to get ahold of g&f. Cant wait to tell the younger guys in the duck lease so they dont get on me for scouting from a sxs

Since some folks seem to miss the point, they should just invest in a nice 3d printer and print some antlers. Then maybe spend more time clubbing baby seals and scamming senior citizens?

Geez you just got my wheels turning for a business idea. 3D printed antlers. Probably more effort in that than some of these deer killed these days.

So, I had an idea out of college that’s too niche to be profitable. Guy finds a single big shed antler. It gets 3D scanned, mirrored, and a match 3D printed. Thought it was a neat idea. Also a service where you 3D scanned large racks and just give the owner a file. If the rack is ever lost or stolen it could just be printed out.
