Cut ant help!

TxA&Mhunter

5 year old buck +
im Not sure if you guys have these type of ants up north but... these buggers are stripping my pear trees of the foliage. This happens last year too, and we thought we found the den but... there is more than one lol.
This nest is proving difficult to find. Any one have suggestions or ideas how to deal with? It appears that They love Asian pears.

Are you spraying your trees every 10-14 days with an insecticide? If so, what are you using? I been spraying with the Imidan and having good results.

That sucks! No, normally not much problem w/ ants up north. Take some pics, I'd like to see what they are doing..... Good luck!

I'm up north and have had this same problem. They seem to like the pear, crabs, and plums. This is what I have had success with. Spray the tree with a permethrin mixture and put granules around the cages.

Sorry guys work has been a beast since I posted this.
We don't spray the trees but I'll give it a go and see how it works.
Did some more research, found the best treatment is lime pumped in to the nest... unfortunately those research docs published didn't say how the pumped it in to thenest or say what the ratio of like to water was lol...
they say a lime (to stop the fungus food) and ant poison (can't remove which one) will Get rid of them for 8 months or so.
