Agree.

I wonder if there's an alternate universe out there where there's a forum dedicated to Politics, Conspiracy Theories, and World Affairs but the members mostly discuss food plots, habitat management, and hunting knives. 😆
Yes there is but, you can’t get there from here.

The problem with today's "optics" is that by not having a resolution together BEFORE the actual deal signing......this dispute will only make Russia stronger and more resolved to win it's way. BAD bluffing here and the end result is a disaster for Ukraine....if this does not come back to the signing table in a few hours....IMO.

Zelinski should have never showed up if he was not ready for the proposed deal.
This also puzzles me. Why didn’t they get everything signed before they had a press conference. I believe they never had a deal and Zelenskyy was going to try and negotiate when he got here. That didn’t turn out well. I agree with some of the news I’ve been watching that Zelenskyy just wasn’t reading the room.

This probably goes under the conspiracy thread but, is it possible that Putin told Trump that a part of the deal would be that Zelensky is ousted? Makes a lot of sense about comments about no elections and the stage today.

I hope that’s not the case. If so our president would have colluded with Russia to put a Russian puppet in control of a sovereign nation.

Suppose the USA can ask for help from Ukraine if we ever need it? Will we get it?
Tell me ONE other country that has provided any meaningful aid to the USA for a Tornado, Hurricane, Flood, or any other national disaster. I'll wait.

I think a lot of people are going to be calling for him to resign and not too far off. Inside and outside of Ukraine. But no, I don’t think the US would do that

Does it work like that? Have we ever provided other countries aid for natural disasters? Hell, we argue over if we should provide our own people aid in natural disasters.
We mostly provide aid to other countries for influence. Influence over politics, natural resources, military logistics, etc.

Sadly I don't think that's true anymore, at least for the majority. The problem with places like Afghanistan is there was nothing to win and they had nothing to lose. And had nothing to go back to. Where I think people here would happily surrender if they thought they could go back to their internet, their Tv, Amazon and full shelves. I'm not saying any of those things would exist, but if they thought they might. China doesn't need to invade us, just shut off the supply of everything we get from them, which is just about everything, and the American people will be begging the politicians to capitulate. Heck a two week shortage on toilet paper and reduced grocery store hours brought half the country to its knees.

Mmm... maybe, but you're kind of counting from 1, 2, 3 and jumping to 8, 9, 10 there.

Yes. Being a strong security partner goes hand in hand with being a strong trading partner. And access.

It’s why we easily have the strongest economy in the world.

Taiwan was watching. So were all the pacific rim countries that live in the shadow of China.

Europe is our largest trading partner. Alarm bells certainly going off there. I’m glad to see that they are ramping up their defense spending- I think they are going to need it. Putin has wants.

Fellas, I don’t think yesterday was a good day.

We shall see.

Yesterday was not a good day for Zelensky!

There was some argument that the negotiations with Russia should have been held off until May or June. Sanctions are working and Trump has done some stuff to better enforce the sanctions unlike his lilly liver predecessor. Apparently Putin has used up the fighting aged Russian men from “ethnic Russia” and was starting to have to enlist soldiers from St. Petersburg and Moscow. These are the two parts of Russia that people don’t still crap in outhouses and having their boys dying and bleeding would have certainly put internal pressure on Putin.

Putin wants an end to sanctions so he can get machine parts and fix industry so they can get back to building their war machine. Without North Korea they couldn’t have made it this far. If he gets a pause to retool and train soldiers, Europe has real reason to worry.

No it was not. He screwed up.

I fear his people will pay the price. An even bigger price than they already have. And by “Pay the price” I mean in the blood of their sons, women and children.

I was not proud of what I saw yesterday. I read the previous comments and know that many don’t agree.

Maybe there is some grand plan I don’t understand- because I don’t understand what I saw yesterday.

And I didn’t understand what I saw with the French prime minister.

And I don’t understand $5 million dollar golden visas.

Whoever says that yesterday was not a display of strength is kidding themselves. China didn’t take anything away from this other than we have the toughest SOB to deal with in the world (Putin would be maybe in same boat)

Trump is tough & unpredictable, that’s why we don’t see invasions under his watch. If there’s one major invasion in the next 4 years I’ll eat my words … but there were (2) under Biden, one was VP and one as President.

The guy got shot in the ear and didn’t hesitate to stand up and display strength !

I’m gonna add up Ukrainian/Russian deaths under Biden in Ukraine, and deaths under Trump and let’s see who’s correct in the end ?
