I dont believe it's software related- it's possible , but if it was, the number of instances would be much greater. As of tonight, the two cameras on this thread are the only two i have seen where there wasnt an explanation for the image being whited out. Verify pictures are taken at 9 am. I thought you both said your night images are where the issue was but its not an issue in day time images?
In regards to the G cell home remote capability, this has been discussed before many times in the past. The G cell home camera wasnt intended to be used as a remote, the G series non cell units were designed as remotes without a cell modem inside. The g cell homes have not been able to be used as a remote since version 8.1 firmware was current (over 4 years ago). The G home cells were sold at $199 retail at a time in which the G remotes were being sold for $279 retail . There will not be an update to allow G cell homes to be used as a remote camera, they were sold at a lower cost as an incentive to promote new networks even though the cell modem added to the unit increased the cost substantially. They were sold at a loss with the idea that cell plans would cover the margin loss in the future. There are users who retained 8.1 firmware and you can revert back to that version for your entire network if using the G cell homes is important to you but you will need to obtain that version from someone else using it, as Cuddeback wont supply discontinued firmware versions. The other option is to find a g link cap and replace the cap on your G cell home unit with that and it will then work as a remote. You can call CS to inquire as from time to time they do have some of those available for purchase if they get returns or refurbs they can pull the cap off of. The g series are discontinued.
