Cuddelink L series Q & A

@john volkman I have been struggling with the new Gen 3 firmware. I have two active networks, the first, has a G home camera on 9.0.0 and 15 L cameras on 3.0.0 forward and CL version 3.0.7. This system works fine. I did have several cameras that started having issues with their memory cards, staying full and not working, but they have been replaced and all is good now. I know there is a new firmware version 9.1.0 and 3.1.0, but I am very hesitant to upload it given my issues with the second network.
The second network was on a K home originally, with 7 L camera remotes. When I moved to Gen 3, I had several issues, remotes would not connect, memory cards failed. So then I brought in an L home. Originally, this was good L home connected to all the cameras, pictures we’re sending… Then firmware updates started coming through the cell in the L home. Several of the cameras were linked through other remotes and then I started getting cameras on all different firmware and Cuddelink versions and pictures stopped sending from the older versions on the remotes (but I could still see them listed in the report). Then, in the last week, the L home updated a new version again, and then all the remote cameras lost connection with the Home.
So, yesterday, I updated the original K home with the 9.1.0 firmware and brought it back out to replace the L home. Right off the bat, several cameras connected, I received a few pictures from the remotes that were in the queue, I figured all would be good, went home. I received a report from the home with 2/3 of the remotes listed and a bunch of pictures in the queue, but no pictures are sending. The remotes that are connected are on a mix of firmware 3.1.13 & 3.0. and CL version 3.0.13 and 3.0.7. The Home is reporting firmware 9.1.0 and Cl version 3.0.8/5.5.15. I suspect the issue its all the different versions of FW and CL. There were a couple of other cameras that I added yesterday, including a G remote and another L remote both showed good Link level when they were set up, but they are not showing up in the report. My guess is they linked through another remote that is having issues talking to the home.
What do I do? This is getting very frustrating!!!
the different versions in your network arent the issue, but a fix is coming shortly , so if you can hold off a couple days i should be able to send a new update that addresses the issues you experienced, as soon as i have it, ill post it on here and ill send it to anyone who needs it. They have been working on this for a couple weeks nonstop and are very close to releasing an update that should fix it. The issue is showing up on a small percentage of users and didnt surface in beta testing until we had thousands of users load it , after which some experienced the build up in ques and delayed images.

To all Cuddeback Users in regards to Gen 3.

Firmware 3.2 is now available for the L series and firmware 9.2 for the G, J, & K series cameras. This update addresses recent issues, improves performance, and enhances reliability. This is a manual update that should be done on ALL cameras on your network. Installing it manually can be done now and will get your network operating with the best possible performance. We are still working towards over-the-air updates in the future as that goal has not changed.

Our team has worked hard to provide you with a firmware update that addresses the issues some users have experienced and delivers a stable, reliable system. Even if your system has been working correctly, we recommend installing this update to ensure optimal performance and stability. Thank you for your patience, as we worked on this update. We know waiting isn't easy so close to season. You can get this firmware by emailing into our Customer Support email at cuddeback.support@cuddeback.com or it will be available on our website for download next week.

you can also PM me your email and ill send it , but know im not the site more than 1-2 times per day at most , sometimes not at all this time of year

Is this the same firmware that will fix the issues on my tracks cameras as well? CS told me that an update was coming over the air for them or I could update the firmware manually.

i dont believe so , either way the tracks are updated over the air so no need to manually update a tracks camera, the update i noted is to fix a linking issue with the cuddelink system that some users had.

Can I put the home G on 9.2 and leave the L remotes on an earlier version?

So is x.2 available now? Will it eventually update over the air, or is this another manual load? X.1 seems to be working ok for me without any que issues. Do I really need to go out and manually upgrade?

its not on the website but will be next week (or i can send to you now-) you dont have to load it ,but if you start to have your ques back up and or show way to many links on your report ,you will want to or you wont get your pics timely. They arent sending anything over the air yet to cuddelink as it's not ready yet.

Ok. Mine seems to be working, so I’d rather wait for the over the air update, than to visit every camera again, for a 3rd time. Thanks, Steve.

fair warning- there is no guarantee that it wont happen to yours without warning , so you can wait but im not sure when the OTA update will happen, it very well may not be until after hunting season and its not something you can do once the problem happens

So, my Tracks cameras just received an over the air update to Gen 3.2, and one of them has been sending non-stop old pictures from the memory card, since about 4pm, I am up to about 500 old images. Every 2-3 minutes, I get another batch of 30 old pictures! There is no option to clear the queue, is this going to resolve soon, or send all the pictures on the sd card? There are thousands! I have tried to clear the SD card online, but it hasn’t stopped it yet. Any ideas?

clearing the card should do it - if you dont have unlimited call cs and they should credit you for data used

Looks like clearing the card finally kicked in.

What is the setting I need to use that tells the remote cams to take a image each day when there is no activity?

If you go into the camera settings online, you can select Advanced, and then select Day time lapse, and pick 12 hours and you will get one or two pictures each day. These will likely be blank, but at least you know the camera is working. I will do this sometimes in an important camera that doesn’t get a lot of activity, just to make sure it is still active.

On the app go to settings and select Home camera, then Command and the first option is Verification select Yes.
