Cuddelink general Q&A recommendations

no usb in ours - any independent retailer can order the wall charger and extra battery , farmsteadoutdoors has them in stock and will ship - or you can just set them in the sun for a couple days without them hooked up to a camera, its possible the battery failed and replacing it may fix it.
Thanks. Can I test the battery with a multimeter? What should the voltage read? I believe this is a sun shade panel, so it has two batteries, right?

Yes. You really need an advanced charger that can measure charge and discharge to check capacity. The voltage will follow nicd voltages, 6 cell I believe.
It's also worth noting that the regular cudde solar panels have space for a second battery.

the shade panel pw-003 has 2 batteries the 3600 panel has one but will take a second. should be in the mid 8 volt range, 8.4-8.7

I bet most guys don't know this. We have 11 of them in our network but didn't know. Better PR might be in order although I'm not sure they're actually needed. I may consider moving to an unlimited plan, which could be a need for more capacity.

there is really no need to put a second battery in the 3600 if you get 5-6 hours of sun a day on it, ive run one for 3 years in wi all year on my cell unit and never touched it, id save the money in the event the battery dies at some point

keep in mind, the data on the first two levels of cuddelink plans has now doubled from last year for the same price. When Gen 3 is loaded and the hi res option is active, unlimited may be a good idea for some , even with that we will recommend limiting the amount of hi res images you send to keep your system running efficiently. We know people will test the limits as they always do, so it will be a learning process for many.

Makes sense. I'd really only want unlimited for October though December. A "Rut Unlimited" plan would be a cool option.

if you choose monthly you can adjust the plan each month, annual plans are fixed and that wont change

Looking at images this afternoon, and this was in the mix. Is Cudde really going to start sending advertising mixed in with my trail cam images???

they will be using the app in this way to make announcements etc that are important for users to know and understand , example changes in plans as in more data for the same price , firmware updates , new functions and features that are being added, etc . They started doing these last fall already, people dont read emails and servers filter out others as junk- but they always look at their pics, this insures a high percentage of users see the info. This improves customer service response time and cuts down on wait times when users call in. As this example shows, all tracks images are full size now, no thumbnails and the costs are laid out so users can make informed decisions on what plans they want to use.
