you want all cameras are on the same firmware version. especially if moving to 8.2@johnvolkman I have a network of 8.1 cameras, just had a camera come back from a warranty repair. It is on the old firmware, I need to not put 8.2 on it right?
someone form Cudde can send you 8.1, you need to have all on same firmware for them to work correctly. The problem is I don't see v8.1 available anymore? I don't want to have to travel to every camera now to update them all to 8.2. I just need to deploy one camera onto the network.
if you have a first gen g cell, and want to use it as a repeater or remote we will need to get you a Cuddelink cap to replace the cell cap, the new firmware wont allow a cell unit to be anything but a home unit.@john volkman I upgraded my system to 8.2. I don't have the option to make my Model 1514 (with model 2153 cell cap) into a repeater. It is only allowing me to be "Home" or "Off" in Link mode. Any ideas? Cell is in "off" mode. Tried uploading firmware again with no luck.

updating firmware remotely is on the to do list but its likely over a year away if not more , accomplishing that is a major undertaking. There are other projects that are in the works right now that take precedence. Will we ever get to a point where we can update the latest firmware through camp acct?
Can you explain the new format a little more in firmware update? What is the range for the 2nd set of numbers other then it has to be higher then the first number?
Does anyone have a copy of Gen 2 8.0 firmware they would be willing to send me on email?
I just picked up 4 more J's and either have to update everything to 8.2, or if I could get a copy of 8.0 I could load it in the new cams and be up and running. Is it the 8.0.1. I think now it's 8.0.2, correct? I have the 8.0.1 and i'm glad i kept it. I bought a new camera and didn't want to have update 6 cameras with 8.0.2 instead of just 1.
I have 8.0 saved still. I can send it to you. Pm me.I just picked up 4 more J's and either have to update everything to 8.2, or if I could get a copy of 8.0 I could load it in the new cams and be up and running.
I wish they would do that also. I talked with John last night and he recommend that I go to 8.2, so this am I updated all cameras and I am up and running. Thank you for your generous offer. With John on this forum, and everyone kindly sharing information sure makes it easy to run the Cuddelink system. Thanks again.I have 8.0 saved still. I can send it to you. Pm me.
I really wish Cuddeback would leave them all on their website like most software companies do.
firmware update should not have anything to do with ext showing on the report , its possible the solar dropped below the threshold and the camera is running on the internal. it may switch back with enough sun.Did the update just because I had to change batteries in the one anyway. Did also have delay issues but nothing serious. Just have the Home and a Double Barrel linked to it. Prior to this the one I have the solar panel w/battery hooked up to would show the power level of that external one. It's not doing that now..just shows one battery level. Same for the other-which is the Home, which I just attached one of the Dual Power Banks to. Just shows one battery level.
Everything else is working fine. Just wondering if it will no longer show separate battery/power levels or did I miss some step when powering things back on...
Btw...they've been running with the update since Monday.

remove the batteires from the camera, let all power drain out so screen is blank, then plug the external power in.Then power up camera and then put internal batteries in. IF the J is a 12 aa or 6d camera you will need ot run it empty when using a dual power bank , if its a 4 D J you can have batteries in the camera as well.I doubt it..as it was still "ok" before I shut it down for the update. Plus as I mentioned, the other cam I hooked the Dual Power Bank to- that never registered on the portal either. I'll be able to get at it this coming Monday, if you can think of anything it'd be. I'll power them both down and retry otherwise.

I had a camera with that issue. It was a wire that came loose from the control board..green in color if I remember correctly. I fixed it my self but if you don't want that option contact cuddeback.I have a J -1521 that the link menu has disappeared from the options when I scroll through them and I can't change the channel without the link menu options. Anyone know how to the link menu to show up again? All the other options appear to still be available. I have tried changing out batteries and it still will not show up.
