The Courthouse Crab is showing some color and appears to not have CAR. My 2019 graft at home is also fairly clean.

The deer won’t get much from that tree. A Kerr outback is almost as loaded with fruit.

One Kerr tree(on heavier soil) is dropping early. The other tree is still holding. Both are on B118 and from Cummins.
The tree that is holding has held fruit well into winter in previous years and rested last year.
I picked apples for cider yesterday and about half of the apples will be apple crab seedlings. Many of my larger apple trees are resting this year. Apple ripening seems to be about ten days ahead of last year.
Interesting that my neighbor says silage harvest is two weeks ahead of last year.

Most of these apples were low or no spray this year. I guess I am getting lazy, but often don’t give the seedlings as much care. Some get none, some that I name get a bit of pruning and maybe a fertilizer spike. Many need better weed control.
Arts Berry Crab looks like dolgo but ripens later and is sweeter.

At a specific stage of ripeness, it almost tastes like a pear. One apple will taste that way and the next apple won’t.

My wife made some juice from ABC. She will can it for jelly to be made in the winter. She feels the ABC has a bit of a cherry flavor.
